That's great, congratulations to your friend. We would be waiting for the details.
.

Hi guys. Am sure you all would be wondering why i did not share my friend's interview experience. Its funny how life is. Someone that I know very well, we went to the same school. , to be frank when he started this immigration journey, he did not know jack about the process, cos he is not the type that reads to get information. He was always, Chatting with me, asking about how the process goes, and being the type of person I am, I am always willing to help. I even told him to get his NPC certificate, so as not to have any form of delay after interview. Up to the medicals hospital to use, he pinged me, I sent him the Addy. From start to finish of this journey, if he says i have not been of help to him, even God will be angry with him. And then just to share his experience at the embassy, he started behaving funny, just posting me. I didn't even bother to ask him again. Am just baffled. Imagine us on nairaland how we are so willing to give ppl info that can help, even when we don't know each other or haven't seen face to face. and then someone I know is keeping to himself becos he feels he has done his, and doesn't need anyones help anymore. At a point, I wondered why u didn't actually share his experience at d embassy after u had promised to do so. Forget him, his experience is irrelevant. It's certain u gonna get ur visa so far u can prove ur relationship with ur petitioner and provide all other documents they required. Countless number of people have shared their experience here on NL and we've all learned from it. For example is ttmacoy, he's always willing to help. He thought he has actually scaled through forgetting he's still gonna pass through POE. I don't wish him bad o, sharing his experience is just for d fun of it. I know he's still gonna need ur help for some info but he won't know how to ask u cos he knows he already fvcked up.

In Abuja the hospital charges N80,900 I also heard one of the hospital in Lagos also collect something similar (I think that is the one in Ikoyi) while the one in V.I is 100k thereabout.

I tell you my brother. His experience is irrelevant to me. I just didn't think he would go that far as to keep to himself simply becos he has gone for his interview. Its still amazing and funny to me. I really don't know why he made the whole thing a big deal. Forgetting that my own petitioner too is my mom. Even if I was being asked questions about my relationship with my mom in my dream. Does it mean I will not answer?. OK. Could u imagine I even had to tell him to take along pictures of him and his mom, as part of the documents to go along with him. He was only going to take along his international passport, passport photographs and Affidavit of support form. Until I told him additional documents to prove his relationship with his petitioner. That its even written on the form. Before he started looking for pictures to take with him.

Hey Rol3nd, decided to answer you here.

When you say local government certificate do you mean the long one which has details of both parents including occupation, address etc or the small one which is like a summary certificate? If he long one you can use this as that is what I used, if short then you need to get the NPC certificate or the long local government certificate.

Eligibility for the NPC certificate depends on when you were born. If before 1988 (never for clear guidance on the cut off date) you can only get the NPC Attestation. If after you can get the actual NPC certificate.

Worse case if they don’t accept the certificate you sent they will send you a request to produce the acceptable version or it you get to Embassy stage issue you a 221g request to send it. They will not automatically reject your application for that.

One thing that caught my attention you say she is your wife yet she is filing for a K1 visa. K1 is a fiancée visa. If you are already married shouldn’t she be filing the i-130 so you get a green card straight?

Last month my wife filled for (K-1) and all information submitted are accurate and truthful but birth certificate i submitted is the one issued by the Local government from my home town, now i am confuse because this same certificate i used through out my school days and for my school here in SA.

My questions are :

1: Is this birth certificate not recognize by USCIS, because i found a forum here and lots of people are talking about NPC birth certificate.

2: We hope this wont result to not getting approval on our case or what should do i do as we already received the form I-797C notice of application received.

I will appreciate your quick response on these...Thanks.

Wanna give a little update on the medicals I did. I had my medicals in the hospital in Abuja. I initially paid N80,900 but had to pay an additional N13,900 for 3 vaccination (because I could not present my old vaccination records). I got there 8am left there around 1:30pm (I was the 18th person) although the nurse told us some staffs are currently on leave because of the festive season, so manpower reduced a little, hence the delay. I was required to bring along the p4 letter, my international passport and a copy of the payment (either transfer or bank teller).

I hope this information would be useful for someone.

A Nigerian on VJ had his interview recently and he posted the question they asked him at the interview, I just thought I'd share his experience here as well.

"Interview concluded.

Visa Approved.

Lagos Nigeria.

I was scheduled for 6:30am, and I was pretty much done at 9am. Interview lasted about 2 mins.

Questions asked were:

Whos filing for you?

Ans: My Dad.

Tell me about your dad, like what does he do?

How long has he been in the US?

How often do you talk to him?

What medium do you guys use to communicate?

When last was he in Nigeria?

Visa was granted afterwards. No document was checked.

Finally, my 7 year wait is over. Wow

Thank God."
