Well, let's hope that they are telling the truth. And that there was no quid pro quod as well. I know how they play those games in Nigeria.

It was privately funded.

Everything is not about your stupid oil money.

Stop the hate, bitterness and bad bele.

Obasanjo still remains the wisest president of all times from Africa. He knows how to deal with every issue without letting it get out of hand.. he applies both diplomacy, tact and force.

Its all our stolen money, how much did he have after he was released from prison, how many of such did he build when he was a military ruler. All this happened within a space of eight years of his presidency WOW. Maybe some serious auditing will help this sick nation.

As a matter of fact, the situation of the Nigerian youth of today calls for serious attention. How can we sit back with all our energy and vigour and watch these old men called politicians plunder our money for themselves and their families.
98% of them have their children schooling abroad or have schooled abroad and to add insult to injury when they graduate they bring them back to continue the dynasty as though Nigeria was their property. Just name them and tell me which one doesn't have their kids who have or is schooling abroad.

1. M. Buhari
2. Obasanjo
3. Babangida
4. Atiku
5. Tinubu
6. Saraki
7. Okupe
8. Duke D
9. Soyinka
10. Sanusi L. S
11. Otedola
12. Dangote
13. Dankwanbo
14. Okorocha
.....just to mention but a few. Now another generation of politician children are coming to take over from where their grand parents stopped. We Nigerian youths must wake up.

Since I was born, the same name have been recycled over and over again in this country to the extent that as we speak some of them in govt today cannot stand up for a minute yet they are collecting task payers salary every month for ineptitude and looting of our national treasury to treat their various ailments and to enlarge their coast.

The youths of Nigeria must arise, it doesnt matter who leads the revolution but we must take back our country from these wicked self centred old men all over the country.

They want the best things for themselves but deny the average Nigerians the basic things. They go out they see how things are done and they come back here and use our own to punish us. It shall not be well with them. My prayer today is for Nigerian youths to forget what they have used to divide us namely religion, tribe and lack of quality education. Let us join hands together as one and take back our country and let meaningful progress and growth thrive. Let every youth be able to harness their potential to be who they want to be.

You need not go prostrate to any old thief called politician to get what you want, your hard work and skill should carry you through. #WENEEDTOTAKEBACKOURCOUNTRYNOW

OBJ is still the most respected African leader alive, even more than the sitting presidents and heads of states.

@ OP, the posts and pictures are deeply appreciated. However, we must be able to ask the hard questions for posterity sakes. There is no doubt that the library was indeed funded at the taxpayers expense.

The donations surrounding the fundraising for the libraries would have been condemned in developed worlds. Where did the state governors at time of fund raising get the funds to contribute? Can we trace and investigate the motivation for the huge donations from Elumelu (Transcorp, STB purchasing UBA etc.), Jim Ovia, Otedola etc. Was their donations a form of kickbacks?

The library has come to stay, but at what cost to society? How many kids would have been educated? How many roads would have been built? How many hospitals fully functional? What is the opportunity cost for the library?

Shying away from these questions imply we either have short-term memories or are afraid of the elites. It is because we failed to put this library on the spotlight that upcoming crooks are becoming brazenly bold and daring in their looting of our commonwealth.

The library is cool, but at what cost to society?

I bet you would be back here in another day or two complaining about hardship in Nigeria or the lack of infrastructure in your state, without making the connection between the corruption you celebrate today! Such is the lot of an atrophied mind.

Go on - deify and idolise Obasanjo to your heart's content. It won't be long before the contradictions you desperately tried to mask here, bubbles to the surface again.

Another compatriot not afraid to put a stake in the ground. Of course those vexing concerns you raised remain a scar on the conscience.

I don't even know what to call it but it looks real exquisite for an edifice in Nigeria. I don't think any other place can boast of such richness. It even has a Cinema! smiley

That man right there is the secret king of Nigeria. No doubt.
