And you think this is the first time it has happened in Nigeria? In this case the list had been compiled before PMB went for treatment abroad this year. Between then and now, anything could have happened. He cannot possibly send the list back to the office of chief of staff who will also send the list back to the source, just to confirm who is living and who is alive. If you have had any official dealings with any Federal government MDAs you will understand how minutes on official letters work. It just can't be submitted and withdrawn just anyhow.

So it's better to publish an outdated list that still had names freshly added than exercise administrative discretion and efficiency to vet a supposedly 2-year old list to be sure that nominees are still interested, fit and even alive? You actually applaud a display of embarrassment and shame rather than do the right thing?

If you run a company and have a backlog of applications and referrals dating back a number of years would you just publish an appointment? Is it not prudent to contact said applicant or nominee and verify their status before announcements/publications?

Have u considered d feelings of the affected families whose sensibilities and feelings of loss you would have dragged before the public domain just because of sheer laziness and incompetence? With all the resources at the disposal of the govt u think it's impossible for them to verify less than 2000 persons before appointment but when it's time to pay pension they will verify and re-verify old pensioners till they die in lack and penury!
