Osun has the second lowest unemployment rate in Nigeria after Katsina

And the third lowest in underemployment rate after Taraba and Ogun.

The state is no 2 overall

Least Underemployment+unemployment rate

Taraba - 1st
Osun - 2nd
Ogun -3rd
Oyo - 4th
Ekiti-5th
Anambra-6th
Kwara -7th
Kebbi - 8th
FCT - 9th
Lagos - 10th

Osun stays shitting on their unproductive potorpotor villages . UN, Oxford, NBS have proven it.

I don't know what else they want grin Should we kill ram for them before they swallow their pride and admit it? grin

Lol, I always pity potor whenever stats like these are released... You can sense from their bitter reactions from this thread already that they hate anything called official stats from Nigeria Bureau of statistics grin cheesy

If there's anything potor hates most , it's stats released by NBS, they detest well-researched stats whenever they see one. Everybody knows the only agency saddled with the responsibility of releasing statistical figures is the NBS but these condemned and cursed pigs of biafla prefer stats from IPOB Bureau of statistics, ohanaeze ndifools and uncle shike stats.. Lol

Their own stats usually comes in this fashion

"igbos owns 90% of the mansions in Lagos "

" igbos constitutes more than 60% of the entire population of Lagos state "

" Igbos have more than 90 trillion investments in borno "

" my uncle shike has ten mansions in Lagos "

Instead of these idiots to be more concerned about the poverty and unemployment rate of their miserable and Godforsaken States, it's aregbesola and tinubu matter dem carry for head..

Anyway pigs will always be pigs Sha

Interesting stats. Anyway people should download report and read it. The NBA actually has A lot to say. 90 pages worth of info..

It's always SE people always moaning and groaning over stats. It's funny. Whether it's UN, Oxford or NBS. Every report tells you how the complied data in methodology section. You supposedly educated ones with high WAEC scores should despite it instead of bombarding thread with nonsense.

Unemployment and Underemployment by State

The analysis below presents the baseline for labor force indicators at the State level following a review of
methodology by the National Burau of Statistics in 2014. Accordingly, it is not comparable to earlier labor
force estimates which used different methodologies for computation. It Is also important to be cautious
in comparing performance in tackling unemployment and underemployment rates across States due to
the influence of migration.
This means a higher unemployment rate in a State is not necessarily reflective of poor performance by the State. In certain cases, a State might experience an increase in its unemployment rate because it is a performing State which leads to people moving from economically or security challenging States to that State in search of a better living. In this case that State unemployment rate is high and rising because it's very good performance is attracting more unemployed and poor people which would lead to an increase in its unemployment and poverty rates.

At the same time a low unemployment rate does not necessarily equate to a sign of improving conditions in that State as a poor performing State can reduce its unemployment rate simply because unemployed persons who can't find work in the State leavimg for another State in search for jobs and a better life. When the situation described above happens, the number of unemployed who have left that State which was doing badly will reduce the size of the labor force population, resulting in a seemingly better-looking unemployment rate. At the same time, it is possible that better unemployment rates of a state might be a sign of better performance by that State just as a State with poorer looking unemployment rates may be a sign of
poor performance by the State.

Accordingly, cross state comparisons to indicate performance should be treated cautiously.

Unemployment and underemployment rates vary by state in Nigeria. Labor force population is more
concentrated in the south and southwest parts of the country, as well as in Kaduna and Kano states in the
Northern part of the country.

Actually Akwa Ibom doesn't have worst figures. Rivers has higher unemployment rates. What I think going wrong is the state isn't doing enough to drive attract businesses to state. The state growing at higher rate than jobs are being created.

The state has been getting some investments lately tho. like the syringe factory, the metering factory, the pencil manufacturing factory etc etc

Guys like Editi (Anakle) and Mike Essien(Hotels.ng) who are big tech players are also working with the govt to improve the tech ecosystem. The future is looking bright

I understand that but its not enough though by what graph tells us. I still consider Akwa Ibom a civil service state with oil companies. I'm still reading through graph report but I noticed the SW and North West lowest Unemployment (SS has lower combined). Rural areas have lower unemployment since farm work and blue collar work more available. The seasonal nature makes underemployment higher though. Then next SW has more of an industrial base.

Graduates are most have worst employment since white collar work has lower supply of jobs. They stay unemployed longer not wanting to jump into blue collar work. Next point NBA brought up is migration factors like unemployed people leaving their state. Then lastly tgey mentioned the early marriage being factor since young women drop out if labor force to be housewives.

Ps: I'm still reading I'll probably bump thread a few times. I don't want it to reek of stupid.
