Just say you don't like Black Mirror. Season 1 & 2 were some of the best hours of television I have ever seen. They were peak Black Mirror.
After a 2 year hiatus, Netflix tried to recapture the magic of the original episodes but fell somewhat short on season 3. The only highlights been "Shut up and dance" and "San Junipero" episodes. Season 4 is really unique in the sense that Brooker decided to try something new and it worked... well kinda. Apart from very weak "Crocodile" and the very cliche "Black Museum", the rest of the episodes were very peculiar, but in a positive way.

A dark techy inclined anthology themed show like Black Mirror isn't for everyone - it has it's own niche. You either like it very much or you despise it. Fortunately, I belong to the former.

LOL...black mirror is on my personal top 10 greatest shows of all time and i have watched a lot of exceptionally great shows(e.g BB and GOT).
I started watching black mirror in 2016 and i was hooked from the first episode. I enjoyed 15 million merits(esp the song) but i didn't like the ending.

Season 2 was great(i just recently found out that white christmas(one of the craziest ep) was in s2). The 1st episode(brb) was good, i liked the concept and the tech. The 2nd ep(white bear) was boring at the beginning but i was mindfvcked at the ending..loved it. The 3rd ep(waldo moment) is my personal worst episode of black mirror. I didn't watch white christmas in season 2 so i thought season 2 was average but the addition of white christmas makes season 2 great. That episode is BM at its peak, no wonder it is rated 9.2 on imdb(highest ep).

Season 2 made me understand what made black mirror unique(things that s4 severely lacked):
1) BM shows the harmful effects of technology on the society
2) constant mindfvcking(i was blown away at every episode)
3) new tech at every episode
4) no happy endings(this was the most unique feature to me)
5) Thought provoking

Season 3 was one of the best TV I've ever watched in my life. It had every black mirror feature esp mindfvcking and depressive endings. The only episodes i didn't really enjoy were san junipero(only the ending) and that soldier episode. The others were incredibly great for me especially the bees ep and shut up and dance(my best BM episode ever)

Season 4 was a huge disappointment, the only episodes that stood out were hang the Dj(9.1 imdb) and black museum(best episode of the season by far(8.9)) and only black museum had the black mirror uniqueness for me. I expected sth bad to happen at the end of hang the dj but i still enjoyed it.

Uss callister(8.5) was just average to me(no mindfvcing ending, copying the tech of white christmas, filled with numerous plot holes)
why didn't he just say "pause game" when he realized that the crew had vanished?
how was he seduced into going swimming in the lake? the dude specifically modded the game to have no genitals for anybody, so why would a girl in a bikini in a lake be able to distract him? How can DNA contain someone's memories and past experiences(impossible in real life)?
Did Daley deserve to die(all the people he tortured are just AI code)? Even if he deserved to die why didn't the AI people die when they entered the wormhole...bad guy dying and good people alive is so unlike Black mirror.

Arkangel was a disgrace to Black mirror. The episode had so much potential(very unique tech) but it was riddled with plot holes and had a very weak ending.
Why didn't the mother talk to the girl about coming late after she found out that she had sex...she could have confronted the daughter that she called her friend and the friend told her she wasn't with her. Instead she lied.
The stupid mother saw her daughter snorting coke and confronted the bf and didn't challenge the daughter at all, so unrealistic.
The useless mother even blacmailed the bf with the sex video and not the coke video(extremely poor writing)
They could have ended the episode with the mother watching the daughter commit suicide with the tab or the daughter having permanent filtered vision when she hit the tab on the mother or the mother dying when she was hit but instead they went with the mother surviving and the daughter running away...very useless episode.

Crocodile(7.5) was pure unadulterated shit. Words cannot describe how i felt when watching this episode. It was like watching a low budget naija movie. It was as bad as waldo moment.
First, there was little to no character development. Why was the main character acting in such a violent way? Was she trying to protect her career? Her family? Save herself from going to jail? This episode could have gone into some really intense psychological/philosophical questions and totally skipped over all of it. We saw about 3 minutes of Mia's personal life in the whole episode. Her killing spree had no level of depth whatsoever. It was seriously just based on a "kill all the witnesses" mentality, which became super predictable within the first 15 minutes of the show. The twist at the end was even more pointless, how the heck will they extract the memory from a guinea pig? Will they ask the guinea pig to remember the event or give it alcohol to help it remember? Ridiculously bad episode.

The Knick has all the necessary ingredients needed for a captivating period medical drama: Junkie doctor, Pro-abortion Nun, corrupt politicking, racism, etc. This show's high production value was immense.

Was a sad day when Cinemax axed it along with Quarry (another show with huge potential).

Honestly don't know why they do that sometimes. I mean cancel good shows with real potential.

Look, some of us started following Black Mirror as far back as 2011 and it was the rave of the moment. Every episode from "National Anthem" to "Entire history of you" was something like we've never seen on TV before. It was outrageous and mind bending. It was the sh*t. Black Mirror was thus, born. That was the peak season and hence, set the precedent for the rest. When you reach the top, the only way to go is down.

Season 2 premiered at 2013 and even though it shocked and awed like it's suppose to, it wasn't quite as good as the first. Neither was the standalone special that dropped the following year, titled "White Christmas". But the magic continued nevertheless, Black Mirror was still Black Mirror.

Then, Netflix purchased the show in 2015 and commissioned it for a 12 part episodes to be split between 2016 & 2017. I knew then it was the beginning of the end. The show worked best as a 3 part limited series: It was a formulae that have worked twice in a row in the past. More fresh content to worked with, more quality content, etc.

Not surprising, when it premiered, Season 3 couldn't measure up to the first 2, and neither did season 4.

So imagine my bemusement when you picked season 3 as your alpha season when it did little to capture the essence of the magic we have come to associate with BM episodes.

I mean, most BM faithfuls either pick season 1 or 2 as their best ever season of the lot, and here you were, picking a Netflix revamp as your favorite? I mean, like seriously?? WTF dude? I mean, it's all subjective, but still... mehn.

As for your issues with Season 4, you're overthinking it. You aren't supposed to. Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.

- E01 was pretty weak. For the life of me, I cannot recall the content, and I have a good memory. So, the episode must be pretty forgettable.

- E02 was bang average. Lukewarm beginning, lukewarm middle, somewhat strong ending.

- E03 captured the essence of Black Mirror in the sense that it totally f**ked with our puny minds. One moment, we were sympathetic to the plight of the kid, next, we were all left reeling after the big reveal. A very strong episode.

- E04 was my best of the season. It was inspired and very emotional. I got me a case of feels after watching that episode. Gave me the same vibe I've come to associate with the BM of old. Mercurial.

- E05 was just plain ridiculous. The weakest of the bunch.

- E06 started strongly but got ridiculous pretty fast. I just couldn't wrap my head around killer-bees that can hunt a person down wherever they are based solely on their digital footprint... Didn't get any better. The cliffhanger ending didn't do it any favors either.

That's it. Not exactly what I can classify as an epic season of Black Mirror, but hey, what do I know.

Unfortunately, no. I try getting into Queen Sugar because of the good reviews, but couldn't. Just not for me. I imagine I'd feel the same about Greenleaf and other OWN contents. I don't dig soaps, be it latin, black or white.

I'd like to point out that The Night Of is not an original content - it's a reboot of an original british crime drama, Criminal Justice

At the emboldened, Godless is crazy good. It's an old western, unlike any western you've seen on television. The show has some top monologue from Jeff Daniels. The gun fights are pretty neat. Dialogue is catchy. The Cinematography is something to behold. It really captures the old wild wild west as portrayed in classics like The Good, The Bad, And, The Ugly.

Give it a try, it's an enjoyable watch. You'd be done in no time.
