There has always been quantum effects. Electric conduction in transistors (or any solid state electronic module) is fully governed by quantum mechanics. There would be no modern solid state electronics without quantum mech knowledge. The main miniaturization issues, I think (not exactly my field), should be heating and controlling current tunneling rate through parts that are meant to be insulating.

What's being done? I have no idea. Maybe the solution will come from applying materials with useful properties (e.g topological insulators) or spintronics - maybe by arranging transistors with different spin currents to reduce interference effects or some sh!t.

Make I do quick research on proposed solutions sef.

Like my Prof would say "What are you designing?" something way you buy from Aliexpress or banggood you come talk say you design.... Everything there is factory made... From the motor to the blade fan... Do you know what designing means? It's just sad how the people in charge have reduced our Education to.... If there is to be a proper designing for this project then about 4 to 9 Engineering department would be involved

I hardly see other Universities of Technology students who have designed drones, tricycles or anything technological

that shows you have not gone anywhere... no be fight ohh... but take it from an engineering dude who has been round the round the country.. diff univerities as well... they tried.. but this is nothing compared to what ive seen... or even what i made myself during my project

True. They just bought the parts and coupled them which anybody can do watching videos on youtube. There was no actual design done because they would have known in the design process that the batteries they used will be too heavy for the drone like I heard one of them saying in the video. The weight, flight time, altitude, speed and and range should all have been determined in the design process and the final product built according to the design specification. To cut a long story short, the fundamental principles of engineering design was not followed because the finished product was suppose to be the prototype which should have been tested and the design improved to correct the weight problems of the drone.
