Go to contacts - hold the left navigation button- Display preferences - enable 'show sim contacts'. I hope this is exactly the same with the rom you have, otherwise :
Contacts - hold the left navigation button - Import /export contacts-import to Mi account.

Backup your data ONLY and do a reset afterwards. Dont backup your settings! Do that and lets know the outcome.
