Why not convert it to government use

why demolished when you could lease or sell the property and get money as revenue from it

I dont know if it is true but why destroy such a beautiful compound that cost millions to build? The government could have just confiscated the property and turned into something to benefit the community like a youth training centre.

Why destroy something that can be put to good use? Terrible

You are right, if the place was converted to something like a hospital who would want to go there? Where blood has been spilled and human skulls found?
