CHAPTER 21.
"Vivi," Badoh repeated but this time shaking her vigorously. He was dead scared. However, Vivian moved, she stretched herself, "what is the problem?" She asked him.
"You are bleeding." A relieved Badoh finally said pointing at the bloodied white bedsheet.
"Oh my g, oh o I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting it until next tomorrow." Vivian tried apologizing after her unexpected monthly visitor came knocking.
"Your period?" He asked her and she nodded.
"Oh, stop saying sorry, it's nature." Badoh said as they stood up and undressed the bed.
"This is so embarrassing, I should be better prepared, I promise it will not happen again." Viv said but Badoh countered her, insisting she should not be apologizing. He also took the opportunity to poke fun at vivian, "the good news is that this proves you are not pregnant., ta da!!!" He said gesticulating like a magician.
"Go away jor! Please sugar, I'm going to need pad. Anywhere you can get that for me? Please?"� she pleaded.
"No probs Vivi. I'll take the car." Badoh said.
"I'll wash the bedsheet while you're out, I'll have to leave this morning," Vivian said. She was feeling a bit disappointed, her calculations had put her next menstrual flow at around 2 days time.
"Come on, you don't have to leave." He turned to her pleadingly.
"Sugar, I can always come back some other time. But I can't stay here with you, not like this, I get moody and cranky as the minutes trickle down, abi you no get?" She said feeling agitated. She was definitely tired of debating an issue she considered nonnegotiable. Badoh was one of the closest people to her, and she liked him very much, sometimes too much. She didn't want that to interfere with her decision at that moment, so she resolved to distance herself further as a mechanism for enforcing her decision to go.
"What if I go drop you this evening, I can use the opportunity to return mum's car." He said pulling closer to her and putting his hands on her waist, but she pulled clear quickly.
"Did I mention the pain that comes with it?" She asked him. She needed to get her point across to him.
Badoh looked helplessly at her, he realized that he would fight this battle in vain. More like being married to Beauty Queens like Omotola or Regina Askia (former miss Nigeria and actress). "I'll get pad for you." He said and left.

"Thank you." She whispered in a barely audible voice. She breathed out feeling relief at last. But as she stood there, the relief soon turned into doubt. She wondered if she was doing the right thing. She pick the bedsheet and put it by the bedroom door, first she swept the room, then she arranged it putting everything in their place. She took what she needed and walked into the bathroom. She washed the clothing first ensuring it was clean.
Meanwhile, Badoh was still feeling in between angry and sad, he drove to the main hostel, parked and sat in the car, trying to understand what he was feeling. "Wetin be my mara sef?" He thought. He had plans to show off his new catch but instead, he was left feeling insecure.
"Hello!" A female voice which sounded a bit masculine said. Badoh turned to his window and saw a beautiful face which looked nothing like the voice he heard before. She was beautiful for sure, her presence was calming as well.
"Yes, hello," he replied.
"Your headlamp is turned on," she said pulling away from the door.
"Turned on?" He asked in confusion.
"Off your light." She repeated and left him.
"Oh, thank you jor," he finally said and turned out the light of the Benz 190. He stared at her having a feeling she looked familiar. She was tall and was gifted with killer hips that do not tell lies. He came out of the car and watched her swing her backside. After watching briefly, "Guy, dey well." Badoh snapped himself out of dirty imagination and walked into the hostel where there was a shop by the left. He got the pad and Aspirin and returned to his lodge.
When he entered his room, it smelled fresh. The room was neatly arranged with air freshener making sure everywhere smelled nice, like New year. Vivian entered from the bathroom with a towel tied around her private organs, yet exposing her dangerously looking straight legs. She welcomed him verbally and collected the pad. She went into the bathroom to shower +.
As he sat in his room thinking of what he would do with himself when she finally returns to Asaba, he heard noises outside, it sounded like people where running down the stairs. He hurriedly rushed out to see for himself. When outside his room, he saw Efe and quickly inquired about the problem.
"E be like say one student don collapse for downstairs, come na," Efe said and hurried off, Badoh followed him.

Chapter 22.

The Good Nigerian.


Akin's room was crowded, he laid there on his bed motionless as one of the students sprinkled water on him, another was trying to fan him. When Efe and Badoh got there, the caretaker of the lodge had arrived and dispersed the students. He asked them to bring him outside the room. Akin was laid on the floor as fresh air gushed into his face.
"He don die?" One of his lodgemate asked forcing many to rebuke him for talking up death.
Soon another asked when the uproar had subsided, "but, na wetin de do Akin sef?" This led to loud murmuring as people began to repeat the question, unfortunately, there was only one person who should have the answer and like 2Pac, 'all eyes was on her'.
Amaka just cried biting her fingers, she was kneeling beside Akin as the medical students in the lodge attempted to help him regain consciousness.
"I tell am say make he rest small but he no gree, before I know, he no dey move again..." She cried in innocence.
"Abeg help me understand. Na plug and socket naim want send my padi to Oblivion?" Efe quickly chipped in. This led the gathering of student to another murmuring competition, but just then silence enveloped everyone briefly when they heard Akin's voice.
"Milk! Milk, milk!" He demanded with the little strength he could muster. This led the whole student to erupt in nerve cracking laughter. Although nobody will blame them, Akin has always been boastful about everything. About his father being a traditional ruler in one small village nobody seems to know, or about having the best GP in his class. The most annoying was his constant noise bout his sexcapades, one which is about to take his life.
"Enough, we have to go to the hospital. He's not out of danger yet." The caretaker thundered sending the place to silence again.
"My guy has a car outside, he can take you." Efe quickly said pointing at Badoh. His eyes opened up in surprise.
"Guy how your mara be?" Badoh asked Efe in whisper. He wasn't cut out for such good 'Nigerian' work. He had a visitor too but he could not say no and become a bad person in the eyes of Lodge mates. All eyes were on him like Shakur so he just murmured, "let me get the car keys" and left for his room.
Rose was still in the bathroom when he got there, he picked up the car keys and turned to leave.
"Are you going somewhere?" She asked him from inside.
"A friend downstairs is unwell, let me quickly drop them at the hospital, be back in a jiffy." He said and rushed out. When he got down, the student had already dispersed, he thought maybe they've got an alternate transport system.
"They are waiting for you outside," a familiar voice said from behind. He turned and was surprised to see the pretty she-male.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her surprised.
"I live here, just hurry. I will be down here when you get back, they are waiting for you." She said.
"Okay," with that he hurried out and saw the caretaker, Akin and his girlfriend among a few other student who can be easily classified as tatafo waiting outside. He opened the car as the three former entered and drove them to FMC. When they arrived the venue, he helped the caretaker carry Akin to where he would get medical attention.
"Bros I have to go now. I have a visitor waiting for me," he told the caretaker.
"No problem. You try my guy." The caretaker said as they shook hands. He left immediately.
FMC Asaba was a 20 minutes drive from his Lodge and through the journey only one person was in his thought and it was neither Rose or Vivian, it was the beautiful she-male who he was yet to figure out her name. "How can someone so beautiful have a not so beautiful voice?" He thought.
Badoh was surprised to see the she-male outside, he had been trying to remember where he had seen her before. He was super sure it wasn't here, or in the school hostel where they met earlier that day.
"Welcome back," she said as he stepped out of the car.
"I'm still wondering where I know you from, before today." Badoh said and she giggled.
"We're in same department silly. But I'm in my second year." She said.
"Oh, that explains it. I know I've seen the face but couldn't place where. And you stay here or you are just visiting?" He asked her.
"Room 52. Third floor. Do you have a phone?" She asked.
"Yes, I do," he answered not knowing the importance. But she brought out her phone and placed it in his hand.
"I'm in a hurry, just put your number, I'll call," she said.
He smiled as he punched in his number, but he didn't know that the number he just gave out was going to be the beginning of his troubles in school.
