In our traditional A African society especially in Nigeria,the male children is the heir apparent and the one to carry on the family name and this also goes with the responsibility and privilege of taking over the estate(s) of the father.
On the other hand,the female child is only seen but not heard because it is believed that she will eventually get married and concentrates on her new family and any inheritance given to her will eventually lands in another man's pocket.
It now seems to be a waste of time to stress yourself to acquire many properties when you have only female children.

Female children are given the care and love given the boys,but after marriage one gold digger of a husband will partake in another man's wealth through the wife.

No one made the rule that ones she marries, the man takes the company. she can still maintain it and the man should build on whatever he was doing before he married her but d woman should not act irrationally bcoz she has a company. How will you feel when ur future wife tells u she inherited a company from her dad?Great right? Same with other men

You may have heard it from the kind of Igbo folks you associate with not the ones I associate with. Ever heard of the umuadas and the first daughters (Ada) that makes things happens. The matriachs of the family. You can't just comment without stringing in the tribal slur that keeps nairaland going. Folks here can't comment without hitting on tribalism.
