You be small pickin for you to make this submission. So the OP is not operating through an IP? You must be a kid if you think Nigeria Government don't have access to the back door of majority of the website running on their cyber space.
I have said my own to the OP as a brother and I don't have time for irrelevant argument.

FG of Nigeria cannot track you through twitter server. Stop over exaggerating the danger.

@dreamwaker, since the person asked you to close the account before payment then it is more likely that he is more interested in you closing the account than knowing your account details. So it is either the government wants you to close that account or someone out there wants it, another angle is you could lying.

Funny you, because IP can be altered means he cannot be tracked through IP. O.Y.O is your case because no how you hide/change your IP your DNS will still reveal your location. If you like use RDP, SSH, VPN or other sophisticated IP Toolz your yansh is still open. Don't just commit or if you, pray dey don't look for you.

Funny you, you just open your yansh with this. Yahoo messenger of all chatting tools. Well. We don't need to argue, just say your hood, state and mention the cyber cafe you started operating Internet facility from am sure people on this platform will come and testify.

I rep Akowonjo/Alimosho and when I mention the cafe names where I learn how to use Internet people will surely know.

Crypto kini, I never believed in all those things. They can pay to a family/friend/associate overseas and that person can send me the money that's if I decide to deactivate it but 250k naira is nothing for someone who works.

One you are ignorant of crypto.

Two, you think 250k is a lot of money as well.

Make them increase their offer if they are serious. They are lucky it is not someone like me. I would not even collect 1M.

If you decide you will take their money, let it via anonymous source. You wan put your relatives for wahala Abi. If you have American citizens as friends, use them. Besides, 250k is just $700 grin

I got two mails from an official in the presidents office to deactivate a parody twitter account I'm running. First mail was a instructing me to deactivate the twitter account @PresidentOfNG which I replied saying "it's a free world and I don't have to obey their directives" and I then got a second email from this official offering me money that once I deactivate it, I will get a "handsome" reward of 250k naira. As if the reward is a man or there are ugly monetary rewards.

Anyway should I accept it or ask for more money or keep running it and also could it be a fake official who just wants the twitter account for themselves abs no reward will be given because the mail stated deactivation first then reward.

Ah never thought of that o. That's a possibility but it's not a crime to have a parody account, is it?

And I don't use it for scam purposes o, just a bit of a laugh and to kill time.

Bro, just be careful. I know Buhari has no problems with parodies (after all, there is even a comedian who makes a living by imitating the president) but we can't say the same for the cabal.

Twitter user sells @Israel username for six-figure sum
State of Israel buys account from Spaniard despite Twitter policy against username squatting

While Twitter tries to work out how to make money, a Spaniard has sold his username on the site for a six-figure sum.

In 2007 Israel Meléndez set up a Twitter account under his first name. This year he was approached by the state of Israel, which wanted to buy @Israel from him for a quantity of dollars that, he told Spain's Público newspaper, included "five zeroes".

The sale went through despite Twitter's stated policy of preventing username squatting and Meléndez, who runs adult websites for a living, said Twitter itself had advised the Israeli government on how this could be done.

"All the business of getting in contact with Twitter was done by them [Israel]," Meléndez said. "I never saw any emails [between them] and Twitter never contacted me, but if the @Israel account is open and working I imagine it means that Twitter had no problem with the transaction."

Meléndez said he set up the @Israel account when he stopped using another Twitter name to escape the attention of an ex-girlfriend. He barely used the account, which was soon flooded with messages criticising the policies of the Israeli government. Only recently did he decide to look at it again and found a message from the office of the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, asking whether it could be bought.

He said he negotiated the deal with the Israeli foreign ministry's Chaim Shacham. "The negotiating lasted for two months but once everything was clear it was all simple. I went to the Israeli consulate in Miami and from there, by telephone, we closed the deal and the transaction."

He sold Israel his password, allowing them to close his account down and immediately reopen it, moving the Israeli foreign ministry's @israelMFA account to @israel on 26 August. "They got on the phone, I gave them the password, they saw that it worked and they gave me a cheque at the consulate," he said from his home in Miami.

Israel is not the first to find a way to purchase control of a Twitter account. The cable news service CNN was one of the first to manage it.

Twitter explains its rules on selling usernames like this: "Unless you have been specifically permitted to do so in a separate agreement with Twitter, you agree that you will not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade or resell."

AS A SEASONED CYBER SECURITY EXPERTS...

PS: Nigeria DSS are good...

I'll give you some good advice.
1) Tweet with your phone instead
2) if you must tweet with a PC endeavour to use a VPN
3) Don't share your contact details online EVER!!!
4) Don't link your Twitter account to any other social media account.
5) Review all apps you gave access to your Twitter account immediately. (Do it now)
6) Don't share your location with Twitter ( to be safe turn off your GPS LOCATOR)
7)
before you enter Twitter, type duckduckgo.com then type Twitter in the search box. it would automatically keep you safe online.
8 ) protect you TWEETS... go to..... option, under Settings > Security and Privacy, to protect your tweets , meaning only those followers you approve get access to them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL
# DELETE ALL IMPLICATING TWEETS AND INFORMATION YOU POSTED IN ALL YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT NOW
# PUT A DISCLAIMER CLAUSE ON THE TWITTER ACCOUNT

Bro with a secured vpn and an MTN line it is even impossible for MTN to track you. the VPN would tell mtn that you are going to their sever instead of twitter(per say) and when you get to their sever they redirect you to twitter and some of these vpns do not keep logs which means even the vpn doesn't know it is you. a more advanced form of anonymity is with tor which uses devices of people who volunteer to redirect your traffic just like torrent where people volunteer to act as severs for data and different people connect to download the data. same way tor uses peoples ip to redirect your traffic so many times that it cannot be traced back.

if you must use vpn though make sure you clear your cookies before you switch on the vpn and make sure you stick to vpn on that device entirely.
SSH(secure shell) is used by vpn to encrypt your data. so in addition to hiding your ip a good vpn will encrypt your data even your ISP wont be able to read your data.
