Got An Offer Of 250k Naira To Deactivate My Buhari Parody Twitter Account by Nobody: 10:41am On Jan 14
I got two mails from an official in the presidents office to deactivate a parody twitter account I'm running. First mail was a instructing me to deactivate the twitter account @PresidentOfNG which I replied saying "it's a free world and I don't have to obey their directives" and I then got a second email from this official offering me money that once I deactivate it, I will get a "handsome" reward of 250k naira. As if the reward is a man or there are ugly monetary rewards.

Anyway should I accept it or ask for more money or keep running it and also could it be a fake official who just wants the twitter account for themselves abs no reward will be given because the mail stated deactivation first then reward.

Ah never thought of that o. That's a possibility but it's not a crime to have a parody account, is it?

And I don't use it for scam purposes o, just a bit of a laugh and to kill time.

it can be a crime. Your account does not say its a parody account so they can charge you for impersonation.

Better indicate it now that this is a parody account.

Ok done that just now. However I don't think any official from the presidency has time to be chasing every parody accounts of the president. They are plenty online on different platforms.

Crypto kini, I never believed in all those things. They can pay to a family/friend/associate overseas and that person can send me the money that's if I decide to deactivate it but 250k naira is nothing for someone who works.

In as much as you are not using the account to disseminate falsehood and misled the public, you are doing nothing wrong. However, if you are using the account to propagate falsehood, incite the public and malign the character of the president, then you are committing crimes such as libel, sedition etc.

They can't chase parody accounts but they can chase accounts that are not classified as parody accounts and jail the owners.

Get the twitter account deactivated fast bro. Don't think you're anonymous cos you're operating the account on a server and the FG can track you down through that. Don't be silly to accept the monetary offer cos it's dangerous.
Cyber space is not secured as you too. Humble yourself before they humble you to grave/cell.

I'm not a criminal o and I'm not looking to dupe anyone. Even someone from Argentina wrote to "me" asking for help, sent me his number, passport and company details, and I clearly told him I'm not the real Buhari. Screenshot above.

I read your posts on Twitter to realise that you are a clown. You passed yourself as something you are not. Even if you put "parody account" on the description now, it doesn't exempt you from the deceit and irresponsibility of the previous posts.

Be good or be good at it.

Just wait till someone said he paid 2 Million dollar to someone who pretend to be the president of Nigeria and you see how DSS will smoke you all using similar accounts.

AS A SEASONED CYBER SECURITY EXPERTS...

PS: Nigeria DSS are good...

I'll give you some good advice.
1) Tweet with your phone instead
2) if you must tweet with a PC endeavour to use a VPN
3) Don't share your contact details online EVER!!!
4) Don't link your Twitter account to any other social media account.
5) Review all apps you gave access to your Twitter account immediately. (Do it now)
6) Don't share your location with Twitter ( to be safe turn off your GPS LOCATOR)
7)
before you enter Twitter, type duckduckgo.com then type Twitter in the search box. it would automatically keep you safe online.
8 ) protect you TWEETS... go to..... option, under Settings > Security and Privacy, to protect your tweets , meaning only those followers you approve get access to them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL
# DELETE ALL IMPLICATING TWEETS AND INFORMATION YOU POSTED IN ALL YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT NOW
# PUT A DISCLAIMER CLAUSE ON THE TWITTER ACCOUNT

FG of Nigeria cannot track you through twitter server. Stop over exaggerating the danger.

@dreamwaker, since the person asked you to close the account before payment then it is likely that he is more interested in you closing the account than knowing your account details. So it is either the government wants you to close that account or someone out there wants it, another angle is you could lying.
