So I decided to update to MIUI 9.0.5.0 Let me see what it will do to my battery.
If it turns out bad for me...well...
At least I took the plunge...

I have been on miui 9.0.7.0 stable rom (RN4x) for some weeks now.
Battery is great.
Performance is superb.
No problems for me.

Sometimes, I wonder what those phone makers are thinking. My redmi note 3 call volume was also too low, sometimes In a noisy area, I had to press the phone hard to my ears.

Now that I'm using a custom kernel and turned the volume up, I'm really enjoying the phone.

Do they test these values in a sound proof room and just decide its okay?

i just tire for them too. I had this sound issue in miui too but mine was better after changing region. its really beginning to look like upgrading to miui 9 is a big risk, you don't knw what you get, what will work better or what will be worse.

You end up getting better software that works well for free self. That's if you know your way around tweaking and modding devices cheesy

Please help o. One of my apps is displaying the attached. I do experience this also while sorting my notification icons under Settings and notification shade. Any workaround aside reset?

9.0.7.0 is different from mine sha.

Anyway, so far I am getting a 1% drop every 7 minutes with 4G on and battery temperature around 36-38°C.

And the update hasn't solved the double WhatsApp notification thingy

Even if you are rooted, you won't get a brick, you'll only lose root privilege when you update via OTA, that's how miui works.

I just updated from 8.5 to 9.0.5.0 and didn't have to restore backup data.
Everything is still intact after the update.

Hey guys if you don't want to root your device you can download the Cyanogen camera it really and notably improves the camera quality of redmi note 4/4x
