I'm trying to give some sense to this picture, I don't want to believe this is a single pole being commissioned. It probably might be one if those areas that never has access to electricity, probably this is the first time they are being connected to the national grid. The commissioning might represent the project and not as seen in this only one picture. Because it'll be so sad if all these dignitaries are lined up to commission one pole.

What if thats a series of Poles and he just used one as a yardstick for the commissioning, What if this is a part of rural electrification project. Bringing concrete Poles with 11kva cables running kilometres is not a joke and may need commendation. Kindly research more and get more information on this.

Based on this precedence, it could be said that sometimes Nigerian leaders do commission silly things and it may not be far fetched that "the Honorable Federal Senator" did, in fact, go there to commission an electric pole.

Still, it is most plausible that they are gathered for initiation of an electrification project. I have often wondered why ground laying ceremonies are treated with unnecessary fanfare. It means nothing until the project is completed. So if the Emir went to that place to witness the beginning of a project that may never come to an end, OYO is his case.

This is crazy. When I single-handedly donated 25 electric poles in my community in 2008 with my salary not exceeding 1.2m annually and a senator that collected 36m on monthly basis commissioned an electric pole. This is one of the Shitholers in this land so said Donald Trump. I hereby recommend to INEC to undergo medical/psychiatric tests for all the contestants in the coming elections.

To be honest,I think it couldn't have been just a single pole that was commissioned but maybe for the entire district or ward and the one photographed is just to serve as the symbol of the commissioning.
It's just like when a single block is used as d symbolic commissioning of the start of a building construction.
