Oau doesn't give we adeyemi student transcript it's adeyemi that give out,we don't go to oau for anything all we do is in adeyemi

That's where the problem lies.
A possible way around it would be to ask your school (Adeyemi) to send the transcript to Ife and let OAU send directly to WES. I hope that would be possible.

But how come they're issuing transcripts for certificates they didn't award. All academic records should've been retained by OAU.

Yes, you can combine different NOCs (A, B or 0) but you must have at least one year of continuous full-time (or an equal amount of continuous part-time) paid work experience in your primary NOC.
In relation to work experience, before I went for my NYSC, I worked as an English teacher in a primary school for one year, during NYSC I also taught English for one year, after NYSC, I taught again for one year in a primary school and presently I am in a university lecturing English and this is my second year in my current place of work. HOW MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE DO I HAVE NOW (SHOULD I COMBINE ALL?) AND SHOULD IT BE NOC A? Thank you.

You became qualified to practice law the day you were called to the bar.

Have you started your evaluation with NCA?

Ethelia:
Please I'm back again grin

My fellow lawyers, when completing the profile, there is a question about 'which date did you first become qualified to practice this profession' .

Do I use the date I received my university degree (which is what I have an ECA from IQAS for, or do I use Law school call to bar date?

Thanks

Hmn, it's really confusing. Which do I go with now? call to bar date or university graduation date? from the wording of the question I think it's the graduation date as it asks for when you 'first' became qualified to practice.

Please lawyers that have gotten ppr which one did you put in your profile??

As for NCA, at least let me get ita first na grin

I think you may need to go if possible. A cousin of mine did a program at College of Education Ijanikin Lagos affiliated with one University in Akure (can't remember the name). When she needed her certificate and transcript, she travelled to Akure to collect it. Don't know if the same applies to this case. Just give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Yes. In the spirit of helping one another, I said here some weeks ago that any UNN alumnus who desires to process transcript should get in touch with me. A good number of people here did and within 5 days or less their transcripts got delivered. They are here and can testify to that. Send me a PM if you are also interested. (Please note that this is not a business venture for me, before the moderators think it is and ban me. I'm only trying to assist others the little way I can)

Cheers

I will make it easy for you,

ICES accepts e-mail transcript directly from school - WES does not (that will save you some courier fee ''to'' but you pay ''from''

ICES Turn around time is faster (Around 3 weeks after school sends the e-mail)WES You are at the mercy of your school to respond to reconfirmstion

ICES So far you quote your reference number, they will always respond to you inquiry - WES Not sure about them but there are complaints in this regard.

ICES Does not reconfirm transcripts from schools - WES Reconfirms transcripts from schools (you no what that means if you went to a village school that you cant get to in a jiffy).

ICES Does not send ECA by e-mail upon completion (only through courier) - WES Sends ECA through courier

@ Keni - I have a sibling residing in Canada, I hope if couriered to him I can scan and upload in the EE without issues?

Anyone can answer me please.

LOL....

You were qualified to practice law the day you were called to the Nigerian Bar.
As you know, with only LL.B you are can't practice.

But then, when you graduated from university you qualified as a lawyer.
But it is when you graduate from law school you qualify to practice as a barrister and solicitor.

Let me ask a lawyer with PR already, I'll be back

Regards.

I agree, but without the university degree there can be no law school certificate, so the first qualification to practice the profession is the university degree grin

Please lawyers with PPR abeg come and help us

You can combine all. You first became qualified to teach when you graduated and not after NYSC. Don't forget that you might even skip NYSC based on age. So claim from the teaching experience from primary school all the way to current one.

On the other hand, primary and secondary school teacher and university lecturer all have different NOC codes. So while choosing the ones to use, bear in mind that 3 years gives you the maximum point, unless you needed the extra years towards FSW eligibility.

Dear Nairalandnewbie,

I already gave you the explanation indirectly.

" My application for so and so visa to Canada in December, 201X was rejected. The Visa Officer was not convinced that I had sufficient ties that would ensure that I returned to Nigeria upon expiration of the visit that was being proposed". Please attach rejection letter if you still have it.

Sebi dem say you no go return ni, now you are kukuma applying to 'not return' so ideally, it should not be a problem, you did not commit any crime or misrepresent facts or commit visa fraud...in the absence of those things, you are good to go.

Gbam! You have said it.
Don't overthink it nairalandnewbie. Visa rejections are not nails in the cross. It's normal to have visa rejections so long as you were not found to be a threat to the country. Just do as happytbaby has said.

My fellow lawyers, when completing the profile, there is a question about 'which date did you first become qualified to practice this profession' .

Do I use the date I received my university degree (which is what I have an ECA from IQAS for, or do I use Law school call to bar date?

Thanks

The appropriate date is the date you got LLB. I used same for my application. Your BL. has no bearing on your application until you get to Canada and you are ready to get licensed. In addition, your LLB was the certificate that was evaluated and it was done without the assumption that you have a BL certificate, even law grads without BL will get the same evaluation if sent to IQAS hence the reason for this conclusion. Although i have seen instances that a VO will request for your BL but it is not a general requirement. Summary - Your LLb was evaluated, stick to the details on it.

Hello, thank you for this reply. I was also denied last year for purpose of visit(Not sure I will come back to Nigeria).
1. How can I explain this in an LOE.
2. I hope this won't affect my application lol grin i no dey for cic wahala o
Thank you.

Exactly they way you have stated it. I was refused for so and so reason. The good thing is that reasons like 'Not sure that applicant will leave after completion of studies' has no bearing on your PR application since its for people who intend to stay anyways. The only thing you should be bothered about is if you were refused due medical or security reasons.
