If you filled your information correctly and no magu magu profile, you can go to their community and create a thread on why you need to be approved.
Trust me, the Upwork team are humans and, chances are, they'll approve you almost immediately.

I lied about the education and skills though. But picture and name are correct. I used web development skills although I plan to change to writing once I am approved.

Hello fam, been a while I made a post on this thread but I'd like to know your thoughts on something strange happening with my Upwork withdrawal. I initiated a Direct Debit withdrawal from my Upwork account a couple of days ago and sure enough, I received a Naira debit alert in my bank account within 15 minutes and went about my normal business. A few hours later, I received a notification from Upwork that the transaction had failed and the funds (Dollars) had been returned to my Upwork account less the $1 transaction fee. I logged into my transaction page and my account had truly been refunded. Funny thing was that the initial credit to my Bank account stayed untouched so in essence, I'd been credited locally and same funds have been returned to my account.
I contacted Upwork CC explaining what had happened and got a perfunctory response about it being a system error and that I should re-initiate another withdrawal for it to go through. I followed up with a more detailed explanation of what had happened and hours later I got a hands-in-the-air response about them being helpless in a situation the system tells them there's been an error. Apparently in situations like that, all they're obligated to do is to return the funds ($) to the original source which they've done. So here I am stuck with money that I shouldn't have and I'm not sure how to go about it. Anyone faced anything similar? Victor101, stagger, Kaycodes, anyone faced anything similar? Any advice?
