- Governor Ishaku of Taraba has joined his counterparts in Benue and Ekiti state by officially effecting its ban on open grazing across the state

- The governor declared Wednesday, January 24, as the official date banning open grazing in the state

- Governors Samuel Ortom and Ayodele Fayose had officially banned open grazing in Benue and Ekiti states respectfully

Taraba state government has officially effected its ban on open grazing across the state, joining Benue and Ekiti.

The state governor, Darius Ishaku, made notice of the ban while addressing a crowd at the burial of the lawmaker representing Takum I state constituency, Late Hosea Ibi, who was kidnapped on December 30, 2017, and was later found dead, Channels TV reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that Governor Ishaku, at the burial, declared Wednesday, January 24, as the official date banning open grazing while Ortom called for synergy in protecting the Benue/Taraba corridors.

It was learnt that Governor Ortom had on May 22, 2017, signed the anti-open grazing and anti-kidnapping, abduction, cultism and terrorism bills into law in Benue state and effected the anti-open grazing law on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported a Fulani youths group under the aegis of Jonde Jam Fulani Youth Association of Nigeria (JAFUYAN) kicked against the recent anti-open grazing law passed by Benue and Taraba state governments.

The group in a statement on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 by its national president, Saidu Maikano, said the law, if not suspended immediately, could puncture peaceful coexistence among Nigeria.

Na di same question I wan ask be dat, o! shocked I no know say you sef don see am. When will it be the right time? Should Gov. Ishaku wait until his own people in Taraba go through the same pain that Benue citizens went through, before he acts? Or should he sit down like Nero, fiddling with his thumbs until those Fulani killer herdsmen carry their craziness to his doorstep?

one thing I like about Taraban's is they know who they are dealing with and don't pretend, they must continue to be ruthless against those land grabbers, murderers and archaic animals among them. Taraba must not allow the Fulanis to occupy power in any form in their state, that would be their greatest undoing.

God bless Darius ishiaku and T.Y Danjuma.

Every serious government must ban those marauders from stepping into their land.

A welcome development though belated.
Cattle ranching is the way to go.
They should also encourage citizens of the state to venture into modern cattle breeding as a way to curtail the monopoly of the business by the fulani.

Lalong has been nothing but a disgrace to Plateau people.

If not for the mistake of former governor Jang, APC nor Lalong wouldn't have been able to win elections in Plateau. It is very clear that this Bako called Lalong is truly a stranger to Plateau people. See the costly mistake that tribalism has cost Plateau people!

The states under terrorist attacks by herdsmen should demonstrate that terrorists cannot intimidate the state.

Other states must follow this laudable example to end the impunity of leading cattles into people's farmland for grazing on their crops.

Yet the Fulani President sees nothing wrong in rendering farmers bankrupt so long as no cow is killed and herdsmen make millions of naira from their business and ruin the business of farmers who end up owing banks due to poor or no harvest at all

Exactly what I said the moment Jang presented late JNS. That's a great mistake on his part and is affecting us now
