you're very insensitive judging from your comment. There's nobody else to blame but the mother of the child for her carelessness and lacity. Her duty as a responsible mother is to listen to her child's cry and complain whether it's sincere or not pay attention first that's why she's her mother. I pray God heals the child.

IMO I think a child of that age should be able to remove her shoes if there was really something stinging her. Mothers must do everything for them as if that was the way we were treated while growing up.

Fake story. You guys should stop taking these whatsapp broadcasts serious. A child that got stung by a scorpion will not just cry, she will be screaming in agony. No real mother will mistake that for the whiney cry of a naughty child. How was she even able to stand or walk? Even if she can't take off her shoe, she would have at least struggled with the shoe when the scorpion was stinging. I totally agree with AskProf, a scorpion can't be stinging a child and all the child will be doing is cry only.

c'mon, this a child in grade 1 probably 2-3 yo. she can't do anything especially if the shoe is laced.

How will your child complain about leg pain and you will feel less concern even to point that the child cried from home to school. You must be a very careless person.

Yes they do and that's why they are their mother's responsibility to pay attention over and over again then discipline them when the crying is useless. If you as a woman isn't ready for such responsibility then don't get pregnant, don't bring the child into the world to suffer.

I never said d woman shouldn't attend to d child. as part of discipline, they are times when u notice the child is just crying 4 stupid reasons, u get to beat d child and allow him/ her cry. what happened to d woman(if true) is unfortunate, no mother would abandon her child with a scorpion in her shoes

I agree with the thoughts of most people on this thread, this story sounds like another one of those whatsapp parables broadcast by our lovely mothers. The child's shoe must be 5 sizes bigger to be able to accommodate a live unsquashed scorpion from morning till lunchtime; under realist circumstances, even an ant in the shoe would be crushed.

As a guardian, when you see a young one holding a side of his or her body, and making gestures to show pain or discomfort, CHECK THAT PLACE FIRST AND NEVER ASSUME.

Thats what a guardian would do. Anyone that does not do that has failed in one of the first elementary points of parenthood-emparthy.

The mother is a bad mother-call it what it is! And thats the first judgement a hospital where the child is taken to with tell the mother first.

moral lesson: parents and intending parents, please always do a double check on ur kids whether they are home or on their way to school, in church etc, they are under ur care and any little negligence can cause a whole lot, even though I find d story somehow unbelievable but it is necessary we pic a lesson and throw d chaff away, have a great day everyone

But it wasn't only the mom who ignored the child, the teacher also did for a significant period of time from class 1 till tea break.

I also wonder how a child old enough to read and write could not express herself and say something is biting me?

And finally back to the mother. How can one reasonably think a child that young would be using "leg pains" as an excuse not to go to school, to the extent of keeping up with the leg pain story even after arriving at school? Shows us something about the mother herself. Perhaps she practices such trickery.

Finally the part i really don't get is how a black scorpion can fit in the same shoe with a child's foot and the shoe won't look like something is wrong.

Addendum: waiting for the child's mother to get there before commencing treatment is plainly ill-advised. If the school had trained medical personnel at hand, they should have commenced treatment immediately!

This story maybe true.. Because I personally has experience it.. When am coming from abeokuta. Saw a woman who behave as if she never passed through pain to deliver her child.. To cut the story shot, back her baby and she wanted to come down from the vehicle she entered before she even stand up people in the vehicle has been telling her to watch out for her baby head so that she will not hit her head.. But the madam careless and goes on hitting the baby head in fact 2 times.. The baby was crying and was in pain that moment.. I was very upset throughout that day because of the careless woman

The mother is a bad mother. She was probably trying to get rid of the child for space to watch telemondu or gossip. A good mother will check first than spank the child for being naughty. If she were to be my wife, will we have a big fight and she will hate me for some time

It is very possible....for anyone to put his foot in a shoe with a scorpion.... but child or adult... before the laces are tied... you will know something alive is in that shoe and will immediately take it off. To be stung by a scorpion.... is no way that a person would be crying ... maybe later... but that person would be screaming and 3 seconds the most...that shoe will be off. Story is sooo fake.
