Responsibility:

1. Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.

2. Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.

3. Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.

4. Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.

5. Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

6. Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

8. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

9. Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

10. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

11. Maintains national sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

12. Maintains national sales staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

13. Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.

14. Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.

15. Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
