No. We're in a new area. Even the players know this. The January transfer window is a testament to this.

Yes his time will come. I don't expect Puel to start Nacho in many games like that... But I see him starting a few games and getting much more games as a sub. I think that is better than being left out of the match day squad altogether or being placed on the bench but not being used.

Nacho will get decent game time ahead of the World cup this second half of the season. I really hope so and I think he will. That way he goes to Russia, makes a statement in the GWG and returns even more valuable. The Slimani and Ulloa deals outta King power are blessings for Nacho.

AIG07:
I was hoping the deal pulls through.

Nacho needs to be patient his time will come.

Bros, I asked you to post the stats of how many chances created by England in euros and how many Kane scored/missed.

I have showed you that of Okpotu, kindly show us that of Kane. I haven't changed anything.

Prove it that Kane got tens of chances and blew them away like Okpotu in CHAN.

I have shown you the most important stat, Okpotu 2 goals and Harry Kane none. Was Kane around the age of 23? Yes. Was he top scorer in England? Yes. So what else do u want?

Edit:

The EPL is not the most competitive league in the world. Competitive means a league where people with almost equal strength play with no clear cut person or persons as overall winner.

In the top 5 leagues in Europe, we have at least 1-5 clubs with almost equal strengths when it comes to winning the league.

I believe you now understand why I know it can't be the most competitive in the world.

If a league of 20 clubs have just 6 clubs competing season in and out, then it's not a competitive league, it becomes competitive if it's made up of only 6 clubs sir.

We have leagues in Africa, South America, some parts of Europe that is VERY competitive with no clear cut winner season by season. Meaning almost all clubs in such league can win.

I seriously don't get you.

So you'd rate the NPFL higher than the EPL In competitiveness? Since the teams are pretty equated in quality.

In all leagues in Europe, you have the traditional big teams who compete for the league every year. That is the way, leagues are.

Nigerian SE players' EPL Action

Wilfred Ndidi starts for Leicester ahead of their game later on against Everton away at Goodison park.

Kelechi Iheanacho makes the bench as Okazaki starts behind Vardy.

Victor Moses starts from the bench today as Chelsea takes on Bournemouth later on. Zappacosta Davide starts in his stead.

Yup. Same here. Our boys are definitely taking advantage of this January transfer window to change their situation.

I have no idea why Kelechi Iheanacho is not being mentioned anywhere! Newcastle wanted him initially, now it looks like Newcastle would prefer to go with Slimani ... someone who hasn't started a game for Leicester since God knows when! In fact, Kelechi should fire his agent if he doesn't get even a loan move this transfer widow.

O pari

I don't think leicester want him to go on loan..I think they would give him some game time this winter, I do hope it's enough games to make him fit for the world cup..

Elderson has deteriorated so badly that he can't make the team in Turkey..I would be curious what Oga icon4s has to say since he prefers elderson due to experience..

Experience that doesn't translate to performance, what is the need for such kind of experience!!

Well, Kelechi should've requested a trade even if Puel doesn't want him to leave. You're a lot more optimistic than me because I still don't see KC getting much playing time. Excuse my pessimism but I don't know what's going on at that football club - Leicester City.

Something tells me that you won't play if the likes of Jamie Vardy and Wes Morgan don't want you to play. Or else they would start losing matches. I think there's a very strong clique in that football club. I don't wanna name names but I heard it from a very reliable source that Leicester started losing matches when Claudio Ranieri insisted on playing the likes of Ahmed Musa and Slimani ahead of the likes of Demary Gray and Albrighton.

Anyway, let's hope and pray that Kelechi would get some much needed playing time because we need him to be match sharp in Russia. I personally don't have confidence on Odion Ighalo leading our attack.

Ulloa left to Brighton...

Slimani left to Newcastle... Newcastle actually wanted Kelechi but it seems Puel won't let go and prefers letting go of Slimani. I think Puel kinda rates Kelechi over Slimani and Newcastle being in need of striker and with Mitrovic also going out the door, they had to settle for Slimani. Slimani too wants playing time so he took the plunge.

Right now Kelechi only has Okazaki and Vardy to contend with majorly. But shaa time will tell... But I see Kelechi getting at least some more game time this second half of the season. Even Puel promised so... But as usual... We dey observe.

But you guys gotta understand that it wasn't Slimani that was keeping Kelechi on the bench! It was the likes of Shanji Okazaki, Demary Gray, Albrighton etc. So as long as those players are still at Leicester, I can't see how KC's situation has improved.

Abeg, mek una excuse me but, for some reasons, I just can't get over the fact that a player like Kelechi is sitting on Leicester city bench. There's too much injustice there!

But Kelechi doesn't have to play as a top striker. He can play as a SS or even as AM. And he could play from the flanks as he did on Saturday. So I think he can play together with Vardy.

And in addition, Vardy (considering his long dry spells this season) is not even good enough to bench Kelechi. Granted that Vardy has a history and record with Leicester but, apples to apples, Kelechi is still a better player (*tries to duck a bullet from Komekn*) grin

Yes O pari master, I surely understand your concerns and where you are coming from.

Like I said, I don't expect to see Kelechi starting enough games. I think he will get more games as a sub and few games as a starter. If Puel exceeds my expectations then fantastic! cheesy. But I am being very cautious and careful here. Vardy wants to ensure he is England's second choice striker behind Kane ahead of Russia so he will surely get most of the games.

One thing is certain... Beyond Vardy and Okazaki starting together, the go-to man would be Kelechi. And If Vardy is unavailable, the go-to man would be Kelechi because Okazaki cannot play Top 9. There is no more Slimani or Ulloa to step in for the rest of the season if Vardy is missing for any reason. It will be Kelechi most of the time.

As a sub, I expect Kelechi too to come in for either Vardy or Okazaki depending on the game plans or dynamics. And of course I expect him to start a few games.

In conclusion, I for see him having few games as a starter and more games as a sub... Still good enough for me. But if it exceeds those expectations, then great!

Kelechi will be in fine form for Russia. And I even think his "balanced" gametime involvement for this second half of the season will favor Nigeria at the mundial because he would still be fresh and won't suffer burn out.

Oga Kog, listen here. This is not coolabout Forgiveness. When he was on a roll, you never said that directly to him. When he came out with his seemingly tribalistic tendencies rubishing Iheanacho while using Kayode , you didnt say nada. Every little discussion and Iheanacho will be the butt end of it all. I am a Yoruba Man. Born and raised in the west. He gave yorubas bad names with his antics. Even went as far as saying Rohr is corrupt. Those who live in glass houses should remember not to throw stones.

That our national team is full of a particular tribe to me is inconsequential. What matters is results. It is insecurity that makes us feel cheated. If you have the value, no o e will dispite it. Let us not mistake patriotism with tribalism. Constructive criticism has both damaging effects as well as uplifting effects. While encouragement will only give rise to upliftment. And if you observe, that has been the way I address this issue. I dont hold any brief for Iheanacho or any super eagles player. Tearing them apart from limb to limb is what I will frown at anyday anytime especially when their quality is not in doubt. (Not talking about Akpeyi here cos he has no biz in the team in the first place)

Our choice of players is made for us according to the coaching crew. This is not IdBrother Nigeria where the audience get to vote who wins or gets eliminated. If it were up to some people, if you no get 6pack or as cute as Iwobi u cant be in the national team. Thank God its not done that way.

Trust me at this state, I would be happy to take anyone who feels contrary on. Enough of tribalism talks and comments aimed at derriding other players so as to promote a supposed beloved player.
