How did you know this? Were you at the scene and what was used to ascertain who did better according to what you wrote here or is it hearsay?
TheGoodJoe:

He never stood out in training. Alampasu was ahead followed by Ezenwa. So no need putting Rohr in the equation because Rohr showed he did not like and trust the Goalkeeper trainer of the team, Alloy Agu and brought in a foreigner.

Finito.

How come you skipped the body of my post dedicated to Ondoa? wink

The AFCON is not of the same standard as the WC. I would far less be worried if any of Ezenwa, Uzoho or Ajiboye mounts goal at the AFCON.

In any case... let the friendlies come quickly that we may know who mounts goal for us in the end. smiley

Friday Nets First Goal As Sparta Rotterdam Beat Ogbeche's Willem II

Ex-Dream Team VI invitee, Fred Friday scored his first goal for Sparta Rotterdam in their 1-0 defeat of Bartholomew Ogbeche's Willem II in the Netherlands Eredivisie on Sunday afternoon.

The 22-year old striker who moved to the Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel outfit during the January window got off the mark on his fourth appearance for the club, turning home after 23 minutes of action as the hosts took the much needed lead.

And it ultimately stayed that way to give the bottom-placed Sparta just their third league win of the season and moving them to within three points to safety in the 18-team division, with Willem II sitting four places above in 14th.

While Friday was in action for 76 minutes against the Tricolores, Ogbeche who scored to help his side into the KNVB Cup semifinals last time out came on for the visitors in the 46th minute but could only pick up a stoppage time booking for his troubles.
Ogbeche and Willem II would hope to bounce back from the defeat when they host VVV Venlo on Wednesday while Friday's Sparta Rotterdam would continue their fight for survival with a trip to Utrecht.

The Facts: Echiejiles, BJ Foundation, Royal Force Warring Over Isaac Success Training Compensation

Emmanuel Echiejile, the elder brother of Monaco defender Elderson, has denied allegations that he is attempting to dupe Douglas Idahosa of BJ Foundation 25,000 euros, being the training compensation Watford paid Megapp Soccer Academy for signing Isaac Success.

Echiejile has insisted that he has documents, including certificate of incorporation and letter from the Ministry of Sports Edo State, that supports his claims of being the rightful owner of Megapp Soccer Academy, and also denied that he embezzled 150,000 euros from the sale of Mikel Agu to Porto.

''I am not claiming any money from BJ Foundation, the money is for Megap FC. Megap FC is not owned by them but Emmanuel Echiejile,'' said Emma Echiejile to allnigeriasoccer.com .
''They went to the press pushing documents that myself and my younger brother defrauded them and frankly we didn't want to give credence to their voice.
''The matter is before the EFCC and I think they should respond to their request rather than brandishing reports in the press.
''I am not interested in joining issues, I understand it is one guy from Kaduna that they used, I wish him the best. It is an unprofessional conduct from him.
''They wrote we embezzled 150,000 euros from Mikel's Agu transfer to Porto. I can avail you the contract of Mikel Agu. The money involved is 70,000 euros, am I a money-doubler?''

Douglas Idahosa, who owns BJ Foundation, has argued that he was deceived, saying Emmanuel Echiejile was an employee of his former club and illegally registered Megapp FC without authorization.

''Emmanuel Echiejile wants to defraud his former youth club BJ Foundation/Megap FC in Benin City claiming the ownership of 25,000 euros Watford paid for Isaac Success training compensation,'' Idahosa told allnigeriasoccer.com .

''Emmanuel Echiejile went to Fidelity Bank Benin City and showed them CAC certificates that he is the owner of the club.
''In 2009 Elderson Echiejile begged me that his brother had no job and he should work with me in my club as P.R.O and when he defrauded us of 150,000 euros that was paid through him for Mikel Agu, we terminated his job with us.
''Elderson begged and promised us his brother will return the money. He has not returned the money to me only to come again in October 2017 claiming he owns the money just because he has a CAC registration with the same name Megapp FC of which Emmanuel Echiejile has never registered a team or train any players in Benin City.''

But the story on the bonafide Nigerian club that owned the sporting rights of Isaac Success before his transfer to Udinese does not end here as there is a third club crying out against injustice.

Allnigeriasoccer.com 's editorial staff has in his possession documents which prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Super Eagles striker was a player of Royal Force Academy Benin City and illegally poached by Megapp FC without compensation.

Blessed Victory Chimezie, the CEO of Royal Force, revealed that Megapp FC acquired Success without following due process, despite having parental consent from the striker’s mother to play for his club.
Success, who first made his name with the Golden Eaglets class of 2013, was recommended to the then Nigeria U17 coach, Manu Garba, by Monaco left-back Elderson Echiejile.
Garba had insisted on running the rule over the attacker despite opposition from his assistant Emmanuel Amuneke.

It's because the quality of football in Europe in general (Romania) is way better and advanced than what we have in Nigeria, they have a standard foundation of facilities and education that they do not joke with, we hardly have that, all our coaches do in Nigeria is teach individual skills, we do not have a good quality football education in Nigeria, reason why most of our talented players struggle for game time when they arrive in Europe.
Last year an awoniyi's coach in his last Dutch club loan spell, he said awoniyi was not scoring as much because he was just getting a football education, meaning after all the under 17 triumph he still lacked a basic fundamental education a striker should have.
I want Nigeria to get thier act together because we have much promise but that doesn't change the reality. so until they do let our players play at the highest level which is in europe

This same lack of education walked Iheanacho right into the Manchester city 1st team.
How many top club 1st teamers have the Romanians accounted for?
I always say this, let us be completely honest with these children. Over 90 percent of these kids will not make it to the top leagues and the NPFL is perfect for them, there is no need rushing to some weird sounding country when there is no chance of u working ur way to one of the top 5 leagues or at least a well paying gig. Even with management and structure that leaves a lot to be desired the NPFL is still a good well paying option in some cases.

Please Guys
Let's put aside this misleading mantra of "WC is for men".

All the old men we have been taking to the WC since what have they done?

I even prefer going with young players and developing them for the future.
This is the age of the youths ooo. Even in politics - the leaders of France, Austria, Canada are youths. Even in Africa Weah has brought down the age for leadership.

Education, education, education. That's what it is now. Our players going to Europe will soon start looking like the absurdity of sending primary school pupils to go study at universities if the European countries continue pressing along this new path they all seem to be travelling on.

The report i posted had Uzoho not Alampasu.

A group member said Alampasu was also sent a coach. He heard it on radio from rohr.

Now like it's looking like we will not have an experienced keeper at the World Cup, we will have to really work tirelessly on the keepers we have available. Enyeama did not make the move this January, hence will most likely not get enough games under his belt before June. Verdict: out of consideration.

Among the five or so, we have some young GKs with very good potential. While I am not against the likes of Uzoho, Maduka (?) and Alampasu getting the number one shirt, I believe any of this very young GKs will have to show exceptional ability to be given that status. It's a big responsibility to place on them, regardless of how much work is put into them before the World Cup.

We have those who are approaching thirty -- if not in their early thirties already. They have great ability, but will have to be exposed to high pressure games prior to the world cup, so they won't be overwhelmed by the occasion at the World Cup proper. E.g keepers like Ezenwa and Ajiboye.

Now my questions. Can we trust either of the home based keepers to be between the sticks in Russia?

Either way, I think it's a tricky situation. Our defense will have to be really solid.

As an afterthought, how about Dele Aiyenugba of Hapoel Ashkelon (Israeli 1st tier)
Here is his stats for this season so far.

Really wish Rohr recalled Dele but it seems Rohr is not interested in him... Even with the look of things it seems he has age limit to kind of player he can invite... All the talk talk Nah politics...
Really wish he invite Dele but I don't see it happening...

On a good day if we based it on activities in Europe and experience Aiyenugba should nick it in the absence of Enyeama but i don't think Rohr led technical team really rate Aiyenugba.

As it's now i don't think Aiyenugba is in the pictures so let's keep on watching what Rohr really have for us but i hope he get it right cos not getting it would be disastrous.

Exactly my point Rohr never mention him once... That should signal sth... Dele is out of contention.

I just wanted to make it a point that this is no longer a player A versus player B debate.

What we have here is a conundrum, if we really must be realistic. I don't trust a home based keeper for the world cup. But should we trust very young keepers like Uzoho, Alampasu or Maduka? For a young keeper, the keeper has to be exceptional. If Rohr has made his decision on Uzoho, we must subject him to full 90 minutes games in most of the friendlies we have line up -- if not all. That will be enough preparation for him for the tourney proper, considering that he is not playing in the topflight at the moment.

Modified
Let me reiterate, in either case, our defense has to be SOLID.

Don't buy the idea of subjecting him alone to 90 mins on all of our friendlies... It wont speak well... What if there is injury problem...
We need to have a depth of the team... The three or four goalie need to be expose in all our friendlies...

Guys I got an interesting book from a WhatsApp forum I belong to on how Germany won the last WC (Title:Das reboot). If anyone is interested in the book just drop your email and I will send the book to you.

The book details how the Germans engineered the 2014 success, how they went about it deliberately, setting things up from say roughly 2002. It tells of how German players are educated to become thoroughbred professionals. It tells the story of the establishment of football academies and playing centers spread out throughout Germany in a way similar to how the RCCG church establishes a parish in every 1km (walking distance). It talks about the potpourri of human resources the Germans utilized- they even involved the German national hockey team coach, a world renowned adventurer and SAP (the largest software company in the world)

It's 289 pages, written in quite an engaging way with a happy, lighthearted tone wrapped up in simple, crisp English.

Football is no longer kick, dribble, run, score. It has become scientific, indeed almost a pure science. This much became apparent to me when due to the constant use of terms like pressing, diamond shape, tactical formations by goodjoe, Mickael2 and others. Joebie reintroduced me again to four four two online after I'd read the hardcopies long time ago. Reading four four two magazine further reinforced the view that football is an intellectual endeavour.

We are here today. Nobody knows who among us might be involved with our football tomorrow. So reading such a book can birth a dream in our hearts or at least give us insight on how things are shaping up beyond our climes. Reading Icon4s mention Osimhen in his exchange with goodjoe, I remembered the book and I think Osimhen is just now getting educated. Our footballer play football. Europeans are educated from 6 years on to play football. That's the difference between Iwobi said Osimhen. Street cannot measure up anymore to the refinements of an educated footballer. That era is long gone.
