On 19 January 2018, a 28-year-old man shockingly killed his neighbour. The woman was reported to have asked him severally “When are you getting married?”.

The repeated queries however angered the man and prompted him to commit the murder.

This outrageous incident took place in Kampung Pasir Jonge, Indonesia.

The man identified as Faiz Nurdin got irritated with the question his pregnant neighbour, Aisyah asked him while he was sitting in front of his house.

According to sources close to the two neighbours, 32-year-old Aisyah had asked him to get married as soon as possible, since all his friends within the neighborhood had gotten married and it seemed Faiz was the only bachelor left in the vicinity.

The suspect however didn’t take the scolding lightly and in his reaction, he stormed into her home and strangled her to death.

“The suspect revealed that the woman said, ‘Faiz get married, the others are already married, why aren’t you getting married yet?’ These words offended the suspect,” a spokesperson from the police force said.

“We also gathered that Faiz who felt insulted with the question, stormed Asiyah’s home and strangled her to death with his bare hands in her bedroom. She had bitten his fingers while trying to defend herself, but the man overpowered her and killed the helpless woman” police said.

After committing the crime, Faiz made away with the woman’s cell phone and stole some items from her home, including cash amounting $59. He was said to have absconded from the scene and later showed up hoping he could not be suspected for the murder. However he was arrested upon inquiry as Faiz couldn’t give a concrete explanation on the alibi he had established.

He was then taken to the police station for further questioning. There he made the confession on how he was triggered to kill the woman for scolding him about marriage.
