Good afternoon fellow nairalanders.

I have been noticing a change in my metabolic system for the past two weeks. Naturally, I am the type that could survive a whole day just with a sachet water to quench my thirst but I noticed that for the past two weeks I have been consuming nothing less than 10 sachet water due to persistent dehydration.

I didn't take it serious until this morning when I was reading a broadcast on one of my WhatsApp groups about "heat waves stemming from the emmision green house gases ". This is said to account for the excessive heat we feel during the day in this period.

My question is " how many of us really feel this rate of dehydration and how often has it forced u to consume water this days?

As for me I just finished drinking the 7th sachet water now grin

Yes, the temperature is high and the air is dry so the feeling of dehydration is rife.

I feel the same way too. Just make sure you keep yourself hydrated and cool

Re: Do You Also Get Unusually Dehydrated Of Late? by Nobody: 2:14pm On Feb 07, 2018
i drink so much water these days and i always feel thirsty.
its because of the hot season.
the Temperature leads to increased loss of heat by sweating and evaporation.
plus the extra we lose in breathing and passing out waste.
the weather is crazy right now

It's not only you

Make sure you fill your buckets with water before you leave home in the morning so you can have cold water to bath with as the sun might have boilt the water in the tank in the afternoon

Dear all,

You would have noticed recently that the heat during the day and night have been unbearably high. This is as a result of heat waves stemming from the emission of greenhouse gases.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has warned Nigerians to prepare for more hot days and warm nights.

This preparation will require smart adaptation strategies and engaging in climate resilient practices to cope with the damage that has been done.

The common effects of heat waves on humans are dehydration which can lead to fainting or death, chickenpox, heat rash, and psychological stress.

In order to cope with the current climate conditions, experts have advised that we;

1. Should drink more water to keep hydrated. Keep a water bottle with you to remind you to take water. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated drinks during this period.

2. Reduce intake of foods that are rich in protein because they increase metabolic heat. Fresh foods, fruits and vegetables are better options.

3. Monitor your blood pressure

4. Should, as much as possible, stay indoors between 12noon and 3pm

4. Should take cold baths before going to bed at night

Please endeavor to adhere, we need you hale and hearty! Nice day cool

You might be having oodemacygocyrochickenposes disease. Ask google

but meanwhile make sure little children remain hydrated, bath them as often as possible and wear light clothes for them. The rate of convulsions in children is on the high. A child died yesterday and the other is on drip due to convulsion
