Hello please i need advice before proceeding with my application.

I just returned from the U.S on a J1 visa for a 3 month research project. I am a graduate student of microbiology studying in Germany. I am planning to apply for B1 visa 3 months after leaving the U.S to attend a 5days conference of the American society of microbiology to give a presentation of my paper that was accepted for publication. Meanwhile while i was in the U.S i obtained SSN because my visa type made me eligible to obtain it and i departed 1 day before the time i was given. I did not have any criminal offence or any immigration law violation in my last visit.My ties in Germany are my education and i also just got a research assistant job in my school. These are my questions

1. Is too early to apply for another category of visa 3 months after my departure, although i have good reason for my next application?

2.Hope my SSN will not have any negative effect on my application?

3. What does the chance look like?

4. Does it make sense to use self sponsorship ? my last visit was sponsored by my aunt in the U.S

Hi fellow NL and go. My wife came in to the country Nigeria January 10 we got married 12 we was planning she will be here till march 5 but I decided to let her go to go and start the processing for me. First thing I want to as is is it possible to change the date to early February. She came by Royal air maroc via Morocco but on the ticket she has to go back with emirate visa Dubai. Secondly what step does she need to do once she get back to America pls. Your advice is highly needed thanks in advance.

My Dad is a permanent resident (Green card) in the US and will be eligible to apply for citizenship this year. As soon as he gets his citizenship he plans to file an immigration petition for my siblings and i to come over to the US and get our own green card. I however have had 3 B1/B2 visa on my 4th one now and i have no intention of settling in the US i enjoy visiting and returning back to Nigeria.

My question is, given that the above filing process may take up to 10 years can in the space of the years while my petition is waiting to be reviewed continue to apply for my B1/B2 tourist visa? or i wont be able to visit the US till my petition is reviewed.

I've got a bit of an issue. I applied for the lottery visa and I was selected preparing the documentation just realized I've got an OC number and I am from Europe, I did not select any other country than mine I just found that I saved my application so I have proof that I selected the right country of chargeability.I am very upset my dream was about to come through and I don't know how this could happen. Is it worth it to go to the interview and expose this to the officer?

My cousin got married to his friend after he won the USA lottery like 4 years back, but they were both denied visa at the embassy.Then few years later, her( my cousin) parent's petition was approved to immigrate to the USA since her parents are citizens through naturalization and she should be going with her spouse. But along the line now she is divorced because they are not both happy, he has left her and both separated and divorce certificate issued. Now, she had to re-write the NVC that she has divorced and she began afresh with the whole application process. Fortunately or unfortunately, she has been invited for an interview based on immigration (green card) as single and unmarried, since her parents are citizens of the USA. she has submitted all documents and a date has been fixed for her interview. my question is will she be issued a visa, and what kind of questions will she be anticipating. Does she have better chances? All documents are intact. Thanks any valuable answer will be appreciated.

Yes, there is a visa fee due at the time of the interview, which is a processing fee. There is also a separate fee for the green cards. If the visas are approved, the applicants will be given instructions on how to start the green card process and pay the processing fee before arriving in the United States. The fee for a standard immigrant visa interview is currently $325 per person. The green card fee is currently $220 per person.

The U.S. Consulate in Lagos processes immigrant visas, while USCIS handles the processing of green cards. For further information on the green card process, please refer to uscis.gov.

If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need to file separate petitions for your spouse and children. You should visit uscis.gov for further inquiries on filing petitions for family members.

Hi, I have a few questions surrounding a K1 visa. When the petitioner submits the signed form I-134 for the interview, does the Lagos Embassy accept this form scanned or does it have to be original 'wet signature', meaning I would have to mail it from the States so my finacee has it.

Secondly, I plan on providing the last 3 years tax transcripts, is this fine or do I need to include my federal returns (1040's) notarized, as well? I have other documents that i will be providing but I keep reading conflicting information regarding tax transcripts and/or federal returns and whether or not it needs to be notarized as well.

Lastly, I read that when providing chats as evidence, it should not be copied to Microsoft Word (for example), but should be from the site. However, with both facebook and whatsapp, they have an option to where you can export your chat, which is in text format (whatsapp) and facebook exports it into like HTML format, but still just text basically. So, is this an issue? Should I just do screenshots instead? Also, the chats for both cover the time span of one year. Most people say to include about 4 pages per month, to show the continued correspondence month to month, instead of providing thousands or pages of chat. Do you agree that this would suffice, about 4 pages per month (I think I may have did 7 pages). But again, if text format isnt good, I will have to revisit this and do it again (screenshots?) so she will have the proper evidence for the interview.

K visas are currently sent to the consulate electronically, which means that we do accept the scanned affidavit of support forms included in the initial petition. You should plan to bring the petitioner’s most recent tax returns (2016). How you choose to present the chat records is up to you. The consular officer may ask to see a variety of documents depending on the case.

The said Husband is a Nigeria man who won a Visa Lottery about 23yrs ago.. then He filed for her wife and three Children and they all are now a US citizen.. now this Man has been divorced for more than 7yrs before he later met my sister here in Nigeria who was a widow for more than 6yrs before they eventually got married 3months ago . The husband wants my sister to come down to the US permanently and he doesn't know how to go about this any longer based on its been long he did that.. Now my question is what type of Visa Category will I have to file for my Sister here? What are the necessary documents the husband needs to send down to us?? Filing petitions is done through United States Custom and Immigration Services (USCIS) and they would be better equipped to answer the finer points of your questions. U.S. citizens may file for their spouses if they would like for them to immigrate to the U.S. They must file separate petitions for their children.

My husband's brother filed a F4 petition for him in 2016 and I was listed as a derivative beneficiary.

I am preparing to renew my US B1/B2 visa now

1) Does the F4 petition reduce our chances of getting a B1/B2 renewal, as our case won't be current for about another 10 years

2) When answering the DS-160 Question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?", should my answer be Yes or No, as I am not the direct beneficiary of the petittion

A pending immigrant visa does not necessarily preclude someone from being approved for a nonimmigrant visa. Officers adjudicating nonimmigrant visas take a wide variety of factors into consideration when making decisions, including ties to the home country and intent of travel. Ultimately, the officer will make the decision based on whether or not the applicant qualifies for the visa class in question and overcomes the presumption of immigrant intent during the intended temporary stay.

If you are included as a derivative on an immigrant visa petition, then your relative has filed for you and you should indicate this on your DS-160 for a nonimmigrant visa.

The medical exam is a required part of the immigrant visa petition. As such, if the medical is not ready at the time of the interview, the visa(s) application will be refused pending the receipt of this documentation. The refusal can be overcome by submitting a complete, cleared medical exam to the consulate.

At this time, the cutoff date for F4 visa applicants from Nigerian is 22 July 2004, which means those applicants whose petitions were filed prior to this date are eligible to move forward with the process.

My k1 Visa was approved Dec 29 ,2017 , but sent to the wrong Embassy on Feb 1, 2018 which was Accra Ghana because my fiancee does not have a permanent resident there only a valid visa, (he was born in Nigeria) today we sent a request to LAGOS email, hoping it to be transferred will they extend our visa expiration date? it expires 4/28 , On average how long does a case transfer takes for a K1 visa? from Embassy within the same country, secondly how will I obtain the new case number? the case shows still in ACC# will it be sent to us or should We keep emailing to find out? we are just wanting to know a time-frame to make travel arrangement.. We just want a concrete timeframe.... thank you so much for all you Do.... Lastly we have heard rumors it can take 4 months is this truth? Just a FYI Lagos did respond saying they will forward to the appropriate unit, should I contact Accra to follow up or will Lagos do the leg work to get them notified it will be approved for request..we are very new to this an just want things to be clear

Thank you very much sir, your advise was help on the day of my interview sir, but the Consular demand for more documentation about the death of my late wife and also ask me to tell my present wife to send more affidavit of support of a sponsor and write a letter who the sponsor is to her. My wife as done that and I have getting more death document from the police and a doctor report about my late wife as the consular demand sir. I send to the embassy through the Dropbox at Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria on the 6th of February. My question is that, how long will I have to wait for the processing. I got a message from the embassy the next day, the message say my case is undergoing administrative processing. Sir please tell me how long does this process take before they call me to bring my passport and issue my visa. Good evening everyone, a situation I really wanna get advise. I ve just applied for my students visa to Australia and still waiting for grants, now the thing is my boyfriend is also applying to go to the US and his agents just called to let him know that he would be needing a marriage proof. He wants to send my information to them as his spouse (we ain’t yet married though we have plans to). Now, what is the implications of this to my already submitted application. I do not want anything that will jeopardize my chances. Does Australia and US share information regarding this, cos that would mean that I have to update Australian immigration and I can’t go over the stress of producing documents now that my grant is near.
