My brother, the truth be told, I am a resident of Owerri, nothing has actually changed in Owerri. The flyover, Okorocha started has not been completed and put to use since it was started 5yrs ago. The so called tunnel is more or less a death trap, even Okorocha has never used it. Filth and bad roads are over running Owerri. I hate it when some people come here to right rubbish whereas there is nothing going on, on ground. Let us start saying the bitter truth.

I bookmark this word of sincerity.

Branch out from this Ihioma road Orlu into the scores of other now dilapidated urban roads of Orlu; move into the dilapidated roads around the Imo international market Orlu and the University teaching hospital - the two economic nerves of the town - you may be tempted to curse whoever governs Imo state for being so insensitive to the plight of Imolites in Orlu and visitors to the area. You may insinuate that governor Okorocha is purposely stifling the town and impoverish its people.

If you are unfortunate and remain in Orlu after a few minutes rain, you risk getting trapped by flood. Okorocha refused to complete Orlu urban drainage system, even though he acknowledges in video chats that his government is yet to complete the drainage system.

The same Ihioma road Orlu expanded since 2013 purposely to link Okorocha's hometown in Ideato, that's what you continue to paste since 2013 each time Orlu is mentioned.

Why wasn't the other most travelled Amaigbo road in Orlu expanded up to Eziachi (1.5km) or to Nkwerre? In a day, about 100 minibuses from Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Abia states going to Onitsha and to Lagos convey passengers through this Amaigbo road, Orlu.

Talk is that there is no new road for new layout built by Okorocha government in Orlu to expand the old city.

I toured Imo state during xmas period, the truth is that the entire state is wholly under developed. The few roads done by Rochas have all gone bad already. Don't envy us in Owerri because in reality Owerri is a total mess. Presently the difference between Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu aren't much except that Okorocha resides in Govt House Owerri. I think I agree with the poster who said that Owerri, Nnewi and Nsukka are at the same level because when you look at these towns in term of size, outlook, economy, population..they are still the same. .

Here are the genuine and real Imolites from different angles saying the same thing while one useless propagandist is always online trying to misinform the people, but I am happy that we all know the truth on ground. These people are all Imolites resident in Owerri but look at the similarity of their comments. Propaganda has a limit. Uwa ntooooor cheesy

Owerri still remains a village shithole, it has been proved.

I feel same but Nigerians have different views of covered drainage. The road started with underground pipe drainage but at a stage was converted to open.

Mr Avagwori,

To stop debris blocking the Orlu gutter, tell Rochas to complete the Orlu City drainage gutter started by former Imo gov. Ikwechegh from Saint Joseph Church area in Umuna Orlu lga, to the Ogidi Valley - about 800 meters.

If the drainage of Orlu urban is not completed, these gutters shall still be blocked after about one week.

By the way, why did Okorocha govt abandon work on the Orlu Stadium which it started before Okigwe stadium?

Prince Hotel Orlu never took off above foundation laid by former Imha speaker.

People in Orlu continue to inhale dust and move in mud from abandoned road works of Okorocha govt.

Rocha's Okorocha VS Orlu Main. He is fighting nastier, and compromising the future development of entire Ideato nation.

Dana Air Opens Owerri Office

Posted By: Our Reporter On: February 6, 2018 In: Aviation

DANA Air has opened an office in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The office, according its Corporate Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, is to enable the airline consolidate its partnership with Imo State government.

An aircraft belonging the state is managed by Dana Air with the registered call sign IMO Air.

Last month, the airline unveiled sponsorship deals worth millions of Naira with Nigerian professional football league covering Akwa united of Akwa Ibom State and Heartland Football Club of Imo State.

Under this deal, Dana Air will get branding opportunities for the duration of the season and fly the team to all its away matches in the 2018 NPFL season.

Also as part of the deal, the club’s player of the month initiative will be sponsored by Dana Air with a largess from the airline.

The airline is the only domestic airline to undertake such initiative like global carriers including Emirate, Ethiad and Qatar Airways.

You didn't dispute any of the four truths that I raised.

Dualizing Four urban roads totalling about 4.5 kilometers and a two blocks School of Hygiene, are the only development projects of Okorocha govt in Orlu urban area in seven years.

Orlu Urban is nearly as large as Owerri Municipal local government area. Difference is that Owerri urban roads are paved with urban drainage system.

The massive votes from Orlu lga made Okorocha qualify for Supplementary ballot in 2015.

I hope the road doesn't get abandoned!

Stories of abandoned projects in Imo State are scary

That road is in good condition...only that it's not a dual-carriage way

Each time i come to this thread after viewing all the troubles in Nigeria, only to see that the most important issue for Chino and Abagworo are just Anambra and Imo who is better, i remember village never do wells.

In every village, there are never do wells that sit in the village just to compare who's house is finer amongst their town's people. Then if you return to the village and you don't give them something, they will instantly hate you and begin to plot how to poison you or bury juju at your project site. You just cannot help wondering how they will find energy and money to go and get juju to punish someone, instead of helping their pathetic lives. That is exactly the feeling that comes to mind each time i see Chino and Abagworo.

Abogwara aka Imo1stson come let us find out why 2/3rd of Imolites are resident in Onitsha.

Most Imolites saw flyovers/bridges for the first time in their lives at Onitsha which is their abroad. Imolites see Onitsha as their greener pasture and obodo oyibo. Below is Onitsha where at least 65% of rich Imolites including Orange Drugs reside. Most Imolites consider Owerri as village and it is true. Abogwara kept living in denial. cheesy

See Imolites walking around freely at midnight in Onitsha without fear of armed robbers or kidnappers, something they don't dare do in their state. cheesy

Nnewi and Owerri are at the same level of development, population, though Nnewi has a higher GDP, bigger economy and more bank branches than Owerri. But both towns are known mainly for having too many roundabouts. Abogwara come let us us discuss this important issues.

Then pertinent question is why there is brain-drain and capital-drain from Imolites who ran away to live and earn well and live big in Onitsha. Why are Imolites running away from Imo state and escaping to Anambra? Why is there no Anambran resident anywhere in Imo state? Why is it that most rich Imolites are residing in Onitsha where they see as their obodo oyibo and greener pasture? Imo state govt should start thinking out of the box. Below is a neighborhood in Onitsha that hosts 2/3rd of the rich Imolites that pays tax to Anambra State govt while leaving their own Imo state backward and useless.

Upon over 250 billion loan already incurred by Okoroawusa still yet everything about Imo state is always inferior and substandard. Look at ANSU below and see how a state university should look like. IMSU is more or less a filthy pig farm, let us not talk about IMSUTH, that one is a complete poultry farm. cheesy
