Hello house, I have my unconditional offer from University of Auckland for my PhD study and I have also paid the tuition fee as stated in my admission letter. I have the stipulated amount for one year required fund according to Immigration New Zealand, plus extra fund for on-board flight fund.
Please my question is, is it necessary to use my parents as sponsors for the second and third year of my study, since my study is three years or the $15,000 NZD in my account is sufficient to show immigration New Zealand for my student visa?
Thanks so much for your advice in advance.
Best regards.

If you have used a sponsor for your first visa.. You must continue to use the SAME for subsequent applications.
If you don't have the means to back up the NZD15, 000 you have in your account, I will advise you use a sponsor.

Thanks for your reply @cconcept. I have my payment slips to back up the $15000NZD in my account. My main question comes from, how i can convince the immigration New Zealand that i can subsequently take care of my second and third year expenses. Is it true that immigration New Zealand are only interested in the $15000NZD for the first year and don't care how the applicant pay for the remaining year.

Thanks very much for helping me out @cconcept. Please do you have an idea of what I can submit to show that am a bonafide student to the immigration New Zealand. Secondly, apart from stating in the statement of purpose my strong reasons that will make me to return to my home country after completion, is there any document(s) again I can submit to further proof it more.
I really appreciate your efforts.

Normally, for that bonafide thingy, they require documents to show socio economic ties like job, landed properties and/or marriage.
For me, I am not married.
So I submitted employment letter, letter of approval of study leave from my employer, letter of introduction by my employer to the embassy, you can add payslips too.
I don't have any properties so I submitted copies of my father's landed properties, his international passport data page and also added my birth certificate showing his name as my father to proof we are related.
I also added family pictures to show all my family is in Nigeria...I did also state this in my cover letter.
I added scans of previous visas I have obtained to show I have a good travel history.
Lack of proof of socio economic ties is what delayed my visa.
Please add whatever proof you can, if you have a business and it is registered, you can add the certificate from CAC.
Whatever strong reasons you have included in your letter, add document(s) to proof.
Goodluck with your application.

Kudos Oga Cconcept for the great and selfless job you are doing here. Please I want to make inquiries about Invercargill. I want apply for an undergraduate course (Bsc civil engineering) at the Southern institute of technology, invercargill due to their low tuition fees over there. I have been researching about jobs and cost of living in that region but the information I have gotten so far is quite scanty. Please can you give more information about this region with regards to jobs, cost of living and life in general. Thanks a lot and keep up the good job.
