The pilot gets alerted in The cockpit should anything or anybody tamper with the aircraft while in motion/Taxying

Doesn't mean it was a robbery.

Could be a stowaway, mechanical failure, badly locked compartment etc.

You probably don't understand his question. How is the pilot so sure the cargo door was actually caused by a thief or thieves, and not a malfunction.

Perhaps I rushed reading the news but I could have sworn I didn't find how they reached the conclusion.

An indicator showed in the cockpit that the cargo hold had been open for about 15 seconds and closed back. Th cockpit is wired to alert the pilots of any safety,security and technical breach.

It's becoming common place in MMA for aircrafts to be burgled while taxiing . It smacks of an inside job. Those burglars are most likely to be in cahoots with the cargo handlers. Nigeria is such a fantastically corrupt entity.
If a young boy could stowaway all the way from Benin to Lagos in the tyre compartment, then you'll know how porous our airports are.

Commonplace for an aircraft to be burgled when taxing? Is it taxing on the ramp, taxiway or runway? After they're done, what's the idea? They jump off the plane or seat back tight upon arrival onto their destination. Jumping off isn't an option because of the speed of the aircraft and the height they'd jump from... So I'm a bit lost on how a thief would successfully steal from an aircraft.

Nigeria is not serious at anything outside of evil things. We are not competent in anything complex. Everything of credibility is zero if scored. If a whole plane can be robbed, then maybe the govt need to allow laws for all kinds of guns.

You still don't get it. This is not perpetrated by passengers who are already seated but by criminal elements who cross the perimeter fence of the airport and lurk around the runways

I feel the cargo end was either opened by those staff incharge of loading in attempt to steal or in error forgot to close it properly.
There is no way one can sneak to the plane via the runway. The distance is much to hide unnoticed.
Only airportstaff gets close to plane during loading....

Bro you lied joor. You don enter if you never enter you no go ask this better questions. It is really a question worth asking,it must be one of NAHCO staffs, no one is around an airpkane when it is about to taxi except staffs n airport authorities. Simple.
