They are trying to spread the granite well so it will balance the truck for easy movement.....

If you made full payment b4 delivery and you observed you ripped off, next time, if u hv 2 order gv one to him or her and gv the second out to someone else identify the difference, short pay or don't pay the supplier & end transaction with him or her.

In the instance of no established guidelines between I and the supplier, i'll just get another one.
In the instance of established guidelines, the supplier will be short changed during payment.

Is there a reason (other than greed) for the huge disparity in price between N/SW and SE/SS. 30T granite in Lagos is N145k. Right? But in the SE/SS, the price they are quoting is N270k for 30T.

Greed from both end result to cheat from one end. i have seen where supplier and his client came to quarry in d scale room weight bill was change without the client knowing.

I waited at the entrance to the quarry, I never went inside the quarry and never saw the loader load the truck. All kinds of possibilities could have occurred in there sadly

All I can attest to is that no one stone missed from the truck between when we left the quarry and my site. In fact, when the truck was leaving I stopped the guy because there were about 5 stones stuck to the side of the truck that I picked out - this caused a good laugh.

Only God can save us.

I've been haunting Ghana building sites and they are the same out there too.

Thailand Bungalow, they use this brick that can be cut with a saw. Does anyone know the material? I like how they don't rely on the partition for strength but columns.

There are no trust worthy supplier(s) at least not in construction business. One can only minimize his loss through careful bargaining.


There are natural granite pits in the North, West and East.
The pits in the South South (Edo/Cross River) and South East ( Enugu/Ebonyi) serves the rests of the states within that geographical location. Once one is able to factor in the transportation cost of conveying the material to his site then there goes the disparity. Also there is the issue of geological material type and it varies.

I am not too sure of the price in the East. But there is a wide gap when compared to the South most especially Rivers State and Bayelsa.

But do people still buy at 270k for 30tons in the South-South. Please which precise area in the South South is that?

in theory there is no way. i work in downstream oil and gas and you cannot believe all the scams tanker drivers get up to. adjustd calibration charts, secret compartments, mattresses in the tank; they know their way around all your measures.

i'm fairly sure some scams like this exist in the business of moving building materials
