DrKlever:Actually he is not. In reality you are because you do not look at the team dynamics and converge that to the team strategy and the managers approach. But being an emotive fan, you cry Wolf. I made this observation as soon as Diabate arrived and made it clear that KC direct competition was not Vardy or Okazaki but the Diabate. I was labelled a hater bad belle and unpatriotic. |

forgiveness:You dont follow the progress of nigerian born players you only follow the progress of Nigerian players born in the UK,because if you follow the progress of Nigerian players you will not be dumb enough to know that seyi ojo cannot make super eagles team and they are many players better than him. Is Seyi Ojo better than Henry Onyekuru? Alex Iwobi? Iwobi is a first teamer at arsenal,do you think seyi ojo will make arsenal team? if he is at arsenal his case will just be like that of chuba akpom and some others who didnt make the team. Break into Liverpool first team at 17 how many games did he play, someone that had only 8 premier league games for 3 years you are calling that one a good player. He was never a 17 year old starter at the championship oga,he is 20 years now,so i guess 3 years ago he was 17 years old and he was at wigan and he played only 11 games in almost a season so how is he a starter? championship have about 40 games plus a season,so you can see how clueless you are and you dont know what you are saying. Ryan sessegnon is a good example of a 17 year old starter at the championship,he has been starting at 16 check his stats,56 championship games and 16 goals from the age of 16 in just 1 season and half, thats a good example of a 17 year old starter at the championship. If seyi ojo is at mancity he will never play 42 premier league games in 2 season just as iheanacho did,is liverpool star studded than mancity? Iheanacho was the best player at the U17 world cup Nigeria won,was seyi ojo the best player at the U20 world cup england won? Call the nigeria players UK produce that is at the top? Dele Alli, Who else? Open your eyes the world doesn't end in your shallow mindset by thinking anything UK is better You are the reason why many foreigners see black as crap, because you lick their ASS. Go and check the top young players in the world, the uk nigerian thats there is only Dele Alli, and we have wilfred Ndidi there also, where are the seyi ojo and co? Iheanacho was listed for the last golden boy award and iwobi was listed where was seyi ojo? renato sanches was emerge the winner. Seyi ojo cannot even be listed for a golden boy award. Seyi Ojo is not better than onyekuru or alex iwobi. |

Still on Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi..... He made a game high Five tackles, executed two dribbles, committed five fouls (really disturbed Aguero on two occasions and also did one on De Bruyne), had a passing accuracy of 76% and made 25 passes amd made 48 touches with the ball. He also won three solid aerial battles.... Ndidi was f**king busy yesterday and had more passes, and more touches with the ball than his other midfield mates (Silva and James). He made more tackles too... The highest in the game. His aerial wins too were the highest in the game. Of course he still leads as EPL's top tackling machine. Up from 109 to 114.... Ndidi is key to our mission in Russia. That first game against Russia will be decided in the midfield for the most parts and we have a real battle on our hands with Modric, Rakitic and Kovacic as our midfield opponents in waiting. Ndidi's boundless energy, growing passing range (who saw that fine pass he laid on for Vardy over the top in that first half which got cut out for Ederson who was intelligent enoughbto rush out early enough to prevent Vardy from lashing on? It was beautifull from Ndidi...), top tackling, interceptive and marking skills and all-round midfield impacts will be key to complementing the genius of Mikel Obi and the Zealousness of Onazi (or it could be Etebo or Ogu... Depends... But Onazi it is most likely). He is among the key young players Nigeria will be banking on to deliver the goods and shock the world in Russia. Our prayer is that he suffers no major burn-out and also suffer no injuries... Keep soaring Ndidi the rock. They call him the Octopus too for the grounds he covers in games for Leicester and we see same for Nigeria's Super Eagles including his show against Argentina. Who else caught a glimpse of his reaction after his battle for the ball led to him feeding Nacho who in turn found Iwobi for that equalising goal..... I recall Sir Tbaba1234 caught a glimpse of it coz he mentioned it. When I returned and read back on the thread I caught thst comment from Sir Tbaba... He caught glimpse of Ndidi's show of outrageous passion in the GWG. Watch out for Ndidi people... This is not hypes... It is just what it is... A special player that I believe will bring many years of smiles to Nigerians in the GWG and beyond... Enjoy his continuous rise to the top....

Mickael2:The intensity with which you defended that Ref's decision left me wondering if you are a Nigerian. On Onazi's person, I remember, I don't know if you recall, that the first argument I had with you was on him. Remember that "Chemistry between him and Mikel talk"? Yeah. When a negative comment about a player keeps reoccurring over and over. And when he has a good game you don't even show up on the thread to acknowledge then you are giving room for peeps to think you have something against the player. I used to defend you when people tag you as an enemy of Nigerian football or a hater of certain players but that yesterday you made feel I was wrong. So don't blame me for it. |

kellycute:Easy man... Easy... Loooollll... He is still just 21. Has not even played 30 games for the Eagles yet... Most intelligent of all time? Man, you never heard of Sunday Oyarekhua? And ofcos you saw Yekini play right... But it is still Sunny for me. I agree Nacho has the potential to be the "Most intelligent" Super Eagles Striker of all time but let his development and journey continue...... He can get there but hebis not there yet. For now, I will pick Sunday Oyarekhua as the "Most intelligent striker" of all time... intelligence is the key word in your statement so I restrict it to just that quality. Yekini was pretty awesome too but was more of a gangling physical horse with some very impressive technical skills too. His finishing and clinicality is really up there among Africa's finest of all time. But on intelligence I will sincerely pick Oyarekhua above Yekini. Why? Oyarekhua was more cerebral than physical (like Yekini). He was more Brains than brawn and right now, Nacho still has to show more of that and keep growing into his potentials before he can be bestowed with such a title. But then, even Colin Udoh and other top football pundits like Jide Alaka, Ed Dove, etc agree that Nacho is indeed a very intelligent footballer. But of all time... It is Sunday Oyarekhua for now. YOU CAN ASK THE GRAND ELDERS/ELDERS WHO SAW HIM PLAY TO CONFIRM THIS. I only saw clips and a few live matches in tapes thanks to my dad then... He was really something else and it was a pity he never had a long national team career and his scoring ratio was bad ass too... Second only to Yekini. Don't be surprised I pick a player well outside my time of existence but thank God for clips and video recordings.... Just ask the grandmasters about Sunny Oyarekhua.... You will see that I am not far from the truth.

Kog45:no problem sir...so sorry for the way I replied...especially wit my use of words...I was very angry then... it is because of reason to support our own that's why we are here.... boldly anywhere whenever people ask me which team fan am I...I first tell them I am a super eagles fan prior telling them I am a Chelsea fan too. I remember in one of the week during the CHAN tourney I sacrificed one of chelsea's match just to watch the chan team play... when the npfl started in 2003 under the leadership of chief obaseki the league was in gradual progression....to the extent that globacom and mtn started battling for the sponsorship right.... I remember how I sit glued to the NTA sport news wit Paul ogazi to watch the npfl highlights...then insurance of Benin and enyimba of aba were my club....complete sports and today sports I never missed... then we had governors who love football...and see the sponsorship of this clubs as no big deal... the problem have suffered recently and the gradual decline is poor management problem....just yesterday I read the NBC will be sponsoring the super eagles to the tune of 2.5B naira...this you will agree wit me..became a reality because of the recent success and organization of the super eagles team....same fate could befall the npfl clubs should the league become more organised...even wit little pay...the league can become attractive.. |

Humility017:No wahala but did you know the same NFF are in charge of Super eagles and NPFL,then why good organization in eagles and not NPFL. Let me tell you basic facts about Super eagles that a lot refused to know, the success of the team especially qualification for WC brought out what we see as good organization, nothing more, still the old way of doing things The same NFF were in charge during Rio 2016 where we have one of the most useless preparation ever in the history of Nigeria football to the extent a player need to pay $35k to bail the team out. Let the result go other way which i don't pray for then you would know NFF are the most unorganized organization, have you forgot Shehu Abdullahi yellow card scandal,we nearly missed WC for that singular act, three point lost and till today what was the outcome of Pinnick panel. |

andrew444:Essentially what you have put forward amounts to Balderdash. YOU HAVE COMPLETELY NO IDEA. You have no idea about the team dynamics at Liverpool fc this a top team in Europe with some of the best players in the world gracing the team. You have Multi million ££ internationallly established players ahead of Seyi Ojo, Sallah, Mane, Llanna, Coutinho, etc, etc. Solanke is a striker not a winger. I know 100% that Klopp really likes him and refused to sell him. About players of Nigerian origin Ibe was a regular in the squad at Liverpool before he moved to Bournemouth. I am not sure what you mean by success. But with regards to the top teams in Europe I can assure there are far more Nigerian origin born in the UK playing at these top clubs in England. The question ❓ is how good is Seyi ❓ Comparative analysis to put things in perspective. Tell me one Nigerian player that will walk into Liverpool first team Not 2 or 3 just one that's all. That means your proposition is unfair and is not applicable. It's using different units of measurement. That is essentially double standard and prejudiced and not in the spirit of open truthful and honest discourse. Now tell me the Nigerian players that are better than him in the position of left sided midfield or left Wing. Give me your rational proven basis essentially justify but not on emotive sentiment. With regards to teenager who have been regular starter in the top teams of the EPL there are just a mere handful and if I go back. Nedum Onouha was a teenage regular starter in the EPL at Manchester City. Tega Abrahams is a regular at Swansea with up to 8 EPL teams chasing him at the start of the season. Anichebe as a teenager at Everton was a regular starter at Everton. In this discourse you have very unwisely OVER and OUTED yourself with misinformation and irreverent posturing. FYI Seyi was bought for £1.8 million at the tender age of 14. Possibly the most expensive 14 year old in EPL history that's a record of success in itself. With his Dad agent laughing all the way to the bank. By the way my information is not based on newspaper reports or Wikipedia. |

TheSuperNerd:Nobody knows it all. Freedom must be given to all to state even nonsensical ideas. Yes! That's their privilege as human beings and no one has the right to stamp on their persons in the name of 'we must only make sensible statements backed with facts and figures(yes because there's a way a man's opinion or viewpoint is attacked and he feels it is himself that is being attacked). You are a science oriented guy. Isn't hypothesis an opinion? Some hypothesis are right, some are wrong. In the face of wrong opinions correction is what is needed. But to say that only correct ideas are welcome here is to my mind setting up a creed which will make us attack with religious ferocity those who have ideas and opinions that seem incorrect to us Are we going to have only white here and no black? Even a regime of sensible ideas backed with facts and figures is abhorrent to my soul. Even if one cannot stomach 'nonsensical' opinions (mind you what is nonsensical to you might be sensible to another person just as it is often said that one man's rebel is another man's freedom fighter) then one can as well challenge it but how we challenge bollocks matters. It is not until a man is told 'wakaa' that he'd feel insulted Iheanacho is not a god. I heartily support him. In fact I get pricked when he's criticised but I do not subscribe to our creating a gang mentality where everybody must have the same opinion. That is fundamentalism, that is totalitarianism, that is how terrorism begins. Even in the face of facts people are entitled to their opinions because interpretation of facts differ from person to person. Our fingerprints differ, our brain patterns differ, our voices differ. So also our views and opinions. Let's loosen our grip on the need to be right and be seen as right to the extent that we cannot tolerate other people's opinions. And its not correct to say that those who queried Sir Icon4s' intervention are people who hate Nacho. I understand what Icon4s said but at the same time the undercurrent sounded like he was giving approval to the way liedetector was hounded. We should not say welcome to people when we cannot welcome them in totality particularly since this is a faceless impersonal online forum. What sort of welcome is this: I welcome you but I do not welcome your absurd opinions. If there's no liberty for them to state their opinions whether backed by facts and figures or not how can we discuss, how can those with wrong ideas be corrected? Congo4ka is one weird guy but I like the way he was corrected yesterday. But you will note that others still said they liked him. That's how life is. We've all been guilty of attacking each other here but I have soft spot for newcomers. They should be handled with more sensitivity. Only God knows the many number of persons who can richly contribute to this thread that we have chased away. Would it not be better if sometimes we ask people the reason for their 'absurd' opinions and try and engage them? And even if an opinion is wrong it won't hurt if we endeavour to correct it with the patience and the wisdom of those 'who know'. Elyte89 reaction is typical. He doesn't hate Nacho. He hates the sacred opinions, viewpoints and facts surrounding Nacho and he's decided to desacralize those ideas and facts just to infuriate those who are intolerably Pro Nacho. In a sense elyte89 wants to save Nacho and free him from the consequences of dangerous love. I should not be misinterpreted as saying that I approve absurd ideas. What I am saying is that we cannot dictate to people the ideas and opinions they should state. I state my own. That's my freedom. You are permitted to disagree, you are permitted to interrogate my opinions, to challenge them. You are even permitted to state your own contrary views. That's your freedom. Igbos have a beautiful proverb which underlies their republican nature: let the Eagle perch, let the vulture (note that the vulture is a clumsy, gruffy, ugly, absurd looking bird) also perch. The one that says taaaa to the other, let his wings be broken. I am pro Nacho but anti - siege mentality. I will end by giving this short anecdote which ends with one of my favourite quotes: Jean Jacques Rousseau was writing dangerous books, espousing ideas that threatened government, the social order and many cultural norms in 17 century France. He was wanted by the government. All over France he was a wanted man. He had no where to run to. Finally he decided to run to Voltaire. Upon knocking the door Voltaire welcomed him with the following words which have become immortal: I do not approve of the things you say but I will defend to my death your right to say it. Cheers and love to you all. |

the bolded makes me laugh... Maradona Worried Over Argentina Team : We Almost Conceded Eight Goals Against Nigeria Legendary Argentina midfielder Diego Maradona believes that the Argentina national team has lost its former glory and has called current manager Jorge Sampaoli a liar for claiming he does not have a genuine number nine in the squad. The former Barcelona and Napoli hero pointed out that Argentina would have conceded eight goals in their last friendly against the Super Eagles and the team rely too much on Messi to win. ''Today, except for Messi, they have lost respect for the team's jersey,'' Maradona told Diario Popular. ''Look at what happened in the last game with Nigeria, we almost conceded eight goals, please, you know what happened in my time in a match like that. " Maradona added : ''Pipa' (Gonzalo Higuain) is ten times better, so for me he has to have another chance, but that boy (Sampaoli) does not know anything, what he does know is going to eat at friends' house..'' The 1986 World Cup winner said that Carlos Tevez deserves to be called up to the national team : It's not a debate, we have nothing else, we're scratching the stones to get a nine, one that overflows, Carlitos also has the sacred fire, it's contagious." A brace from Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi plus additional tallies from Amkar Perm's Brian Idowu and Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho earned the Super Eagles a 4-2 win over Argentina in Southern Russia on November 14. Mickael2: tbaba1234:like I said, y'all argue based on a certain believe that I am always critical and this makes it easy for you to miss comments like this one. Mujtahida argued with me before that game in fact. I said Shehu would be bad as a wingback if you recall, that was in the face of us employing a 3-5-2 formation, and I said if we could use the right persons we would have a balanced game(granted I thought Argentina would nick it). 30mins in, wrong players and we were losing by 2goals that was when I came online again to point out that Rohr has made that mistake I warned about, later on Rohr changed the wingbacks and the game changed. And after the game I came up and made the comment above. Do you still think I have never praised someone before? Then search all my comments on Keshi, Siasia, Martins, Ndidi(his own got to a point that Goldfish80 said he is my boy) etc. |

BascoVanVeli:Firstly, it's not about positional rigidity but adaptability and versatility. I noticed his attributes immediately on his debut and you should know them with your experience. Then consider the team dynamics and structural strategy. I realised immediately that he is not a straight replacement for Mahrez but as in the modern game particularly with variations of the 4:3:3 the three forward players interchange and become strikers when suited or if opportunity arises. You have seen Diabate he has come from French league two. And he is tearing it up in the EPL for them. Last week the TV pundits dedicated a whole five minutes to eulogize about him. |
