People who committed less crimes have come before you crying in honesty, promising to change for real, but never recieved mercy.

With the confession of this criminal.. you not only made excuse for him but allowed him to be jailed to get more followers..

So, a terrorist who is unrepentant of his crimes which include first degree murders is being made excuse for..

I dont want to believe our Judiciary has been compromised or under threat cos they might used threat to harm family members to obtain such verdict.

I think we need to talk about the impact detention has on criminals and terrorists.

I for one think it has gotten to a point where it is largely counter-productive and we end up having convicts coming out of prison more hardened that they were before going in.

In our case in Nigeria, we should be worried about the impact of putting Boko Haram terrorists together with other convicted criminals in the same cells as Boko Haram terrorists could end up having a free market for the recruitment of more fighters.

We should be talking about an alternative to the detention of all our criminals, leaving only those who have committed capital offences to go to jail.

I hope the main people in government pick up on this before it's too late.

The judge is just an Islamic apologist.
Imagine him saying "I would have been more merciful"... So all this evilist had to do was say "oops I'm sorry for slaughtering and raping all these people and children" and he would have gotten a less sentence and be back in the streets couple years later.

Why are Islamic judges ruling on these issues? That is cause for an injunction of bias right there.
