you said, and i quote ''The mission of the Church of GOD is not to develop Nigeria. The Church is not even as cash rich as major oil, telecommunication, bank or top lotto, companies. The Church is about the Kingdom of GOD and the message of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.'' but why is it that the monetery issue is over emphasized more than the real salvation messages? for instance, when it come to money issue, it is carefully, strategically and theological taught, but salvation messages are taught ordinarily. ![]() |

Anbody that criticise the church and faults it for lack of development in the land is a daft slowpoke..but why you may ask.. Is it church that will initiate the policies and incentives to drive industrial growth? Is it church that will construct the roads, bridges and infastructure befitting of an advancing society? Is it church that will improve the capacity of our higher institutions to deliver fully baked graduates armed with the relevant know how to advance the enterprenural dimensions needed in an advancing society Is it church that will ensure capable hands are manning the various parastatals of govt for productivity and growth? Is it church that will ensure workers owed are payed as at when due? The way some folks reason talking thrash about church this..church that..one will wonder if their brain is filled with akamu or something . |

It is ironic that this kind of message has found its way to the public and just like every sensationalism in this country, it is being supported by those who either gain directly or indirectly from its impact. It is information like this that continue to allows these fraudsters with bible continue to dupe, molest and pry on vulnerable Nigerians. First, the Bible has made it clear on what Christianity is all about and what is being practiced today is a far cry from the supposedly dogma, doctrines and guidance from the Bible. The widespread of falsehood and deliberate attempt by pastors to enrich themselves is a direct consequence of failure of public oversight and scrunity by the government and the general public and when one was initiated, there was a public outcry from selfish Christians alike. Fake pastors and not the church is under intense criticism because the public is rather tired of their overzealousness and ambition to get rich at the expense of their congregations. These god of men and their cohorts want the status quo to remain so they can flourish in wealth. They are worried consistent criticism is a risk to their material wealth. They preach of an everlasting wealth in then spirit world (heaven), but live in affluence and enjoy the best life can offer on earth. They advice their members to call on their God for security, but are bricked protected by armed security personnel - “who are they deceiving?”. May I remind the writer of this publication that Pastors and Religious Clergies have been responsible for some of the privileges we enjoy in life today. The same bible that these fraudsters quote and twist sermons from was made possible by Rev Martin Luther. Also, Dr Martin Luther King, another pastor, gave his life fighting for the civil right movement in the United States. Desmond Tutu, a nobel peace winner, was at the fore front in the fight against apartheid and economic segregation of black people in South Africa. What has our pastors and supposedly men of god done for Nigeria? What sacrifices have they paid to ensure Nigeria moves in the right direction? They spew false prophesies based on media predictions, they dine and wine with these politicians, collect offerings/tithes and also assist to launder illicit funds for politicians. In all honesty, these men are part of the problem in Nigeria because they preach falsehood and false hope by telling Nigerians to keep praying away their problems. They keep telling Nigerians that things would be better and God will come and whisk away our problems. These falsehood have been in widespread since the inception of Nigeria. Yet, a writer is bold enough to say pastors are not government of Nigeria. Do they not enable these politicians? Do these pastors not allow them seek votes in their respective churches? Are pastors not blind nowadays to the moral bankruptcy of the country, that questions are not being asked about the source of wealth. They all claim all wealth are from God, even those obtained fraudulently. The writer is a disgrace to our modern society. A disgrace to intelligent Nigerians, who can see in between these falsehoods and intentions of these pastors. A disgrace to those with proper moral obligations to ensure that Nigeria progresses. These wrongdoings must be corrected by pastors adhering to true doctrines as stated in the Bible, rather than conscripting salvation to the amount per bank account of each congregants. Nonsense! |

I dont even support christians coming on air with long epistles to defend the church. The weapon of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God...2cor10:4-5. The devil uses many ways to attack the church and the social media is one of the ways he is using today through senseless criticizm. So let's engage more in prayers and we shall cut his wings. WHO CAN BATTLE WITH THE LORD? |

texazzpete:I will take your rants seriously when I see your efforts in condemning your wicked leaders that exploit you and rape you inspite of your resources. Which Pastor has forcefully collected funds from you? These guys are some of the reasons people like us are proud to be Nigerian. Their works speak evidently for them. Their universities have high standards and vompetiting globally in a short time already with high prospects of getting to the top. They are massive employers of labours. All your govt does is flaunt cars and decieve you. Instead of you to pray for God to give you wisdom to create wealth you are getting bitter for nothing. May God deliver you from the poverty of your mind |

A certain guy walked into a hotel and after perusing through the menu, ordered for some food. After about 20 mins a group of guys walked in and ordered for their food too. To the dismay of the guy, these guys got served first. He watched as they began to eat and laugh heartily. He even overheard one of them brag about how he knew everyone at that hotel and how things moved fast for him there. He felt he was being mocked. He contemplated leaving. But he had waited soo long. Unable to take it anymore, he called a waiter. The waiter calmly told him: "yours sir is a special order, being prepared by the chief chef himself. Their orders were prepared hurriedly by students on attachement because the top chefs are busy with yours. That's why they came first. Please have some juice as you wait". He calmed down and waited. Shortly after, his meal was served by 6 waiters. Unknown to him, the owner of the hotel (who happened to be an old long lost friend of his) had seen him coming and wanted to surprise him and had made changes to his simple meal to make it a five star meal. The party at the other table were shocked. They couldn't stop staring. Suddenly they were the ones murmuring, asking why they didn't get that kind of service and meal. So it is with this life!! Some people are ahead of you and eating now, laughing at you about how they know people, how they are well connected and how they're blessed, have money and how they're enjoying life because of it. You have been waiting long wondering why its taking soo long to get your breakthrough, enduring mockery and humiliation. Maybe you have contemplated suicide, gone through depression or suffered severe mental anxiety. Do not worry!! The owner of the world has seen you and doesn't want to give you a simple meal like those laughing at you. You're waiting long because yours is a special meal. It takes time to prepare. And only chief chefs prepare them. Take heart today!! Wait for your meal and relax. When it comes that laughing party will be silenced for good. Stay Blessed!! Encourage someone else with this message |

HigherEd:The church of God is also the government o, don't be deceived. The government comprises of everyone in Nigeria including the church. So if the government is criticized, the church and mosque should be criticized too in order to bring the best out of the society. |

HigherEd:My thoughts exactly. People easily criticise the church as if it is their duty to provide basic amenities and infrastructures. If the church is doing that, it is only doing it as CSR to compliments Govt effort. No church in any other country as the one in Nigeria is doing as much as it is doing. What the church in Nigeria is doing is bigger than what the Govts in Togo, Benin, Mozambique or Zimbabwe are doing. Haiti too. The church has its own vision and is running with it, why then are we expecting them to be the one to make education cheaper or this or that? We are somehow myopic. Our energy should rather be directed at the Govt. In fact, the church in Nigeria also rises to challenge injustice against its own when most of us quietly let it slide, as in ẹ no concern us now. |

Getting rid of the church and the mosque with there indoctrinated and delusional messages will be the beginning of nigeria's liberation, because then people will start using their common sense and their brain neurons will be activated to be able to solve the basic problems of life without having to rely on jesus or muhammad. Basic things that little ants or birds do in their own world to thrive, with aid packages from oyinbo. |

I think the arguement is using scripture to be extorting money from members. And using same money, for enriching self and satisfying selfish ambitions. Which is why, I stand with Daddy Freeze. Collection in the New Testament Church, according to the scriptures were used to meet the needs of members of the church.Acts 2:45; 4:32-35; 6:1-7. Not for satisfying the lust of the church leaders. |

You ever wrote this need my handshakes... I mean you spoke all my mind and even add others... The church we have today is our society which have driven people to become so desperate and over desperate. The type of worship center will run in Nigeria and Africa is not run anywhere else.. Unless our nation change things will keep going wrongly. And some members of the society will keep blaming and pointing at the wrong direction.. |
| Re: The Church Of GOD In Nigeria Is Not The Government Of Nigeria - Nneka Okumazie by oyetpel(m): 9:29pm On Feb 14, 2018 |
Well my own criticism of the church is that most people in government attend churches, and just like this writer said, we go to church to get encouraged, to learn morals, to learn to love others, but these people are not exhibiting these behaviours for the development of Nigeria. Another thing is; these big men of God are close to the politicians but yet they are not talking sense into them. But just like Tyrion said; the rich will always trample on the rich, because if the poor are rich then there will be no one to trample on. Power changes though, and dynasties comes to an end one day. Let the rich getting what they want in this life and the poor be struggling. The rich, the poor will return back to the ground one day. |
