It depends on the hospital but even rub and pierce didn't hurt when I opened additional holes. A Nurse will handle infant piercing better than salons or tattoo artistes who I know use guns.

My niece did hers when she returned at about your baby's age at a hospital. I don't recall it being an issue for her and I think it was rub and pierce

Ayotundesh:

Thanks soich hunniesuzie.
Please do you know how they do it?
Do they use a piercing gun?
I mean what method do they usually use?

Being that she is 2 months old,I'm concerned about the pain.
Where I had her they said they don't pierce baby's ears until 3 months minimum.

Sorry ma'am I feel your pain I think you should get a syringe(a small size like the tip of your nipple) cut the tip where the needle is inserted and use it to pull your nipple, repeat several times you will see changes and also the stem of a paw paw leaf cut a very small part that will fit perfectly on your nipple, place it on both nipple when you have your bra on, it will also do the same job,if you have a breast pump you can keep expressing but be careful when introducing bottle because nipple confusion is so real.

My dear the Earlier the better.

I pierced Adele's ears when she was just a week and I treated it with hot water while massaging her body.

You can get a nurse to do it and I think it's the normal rubbing before piercing

I know o.

Where I was they dont pierce a baby's ears till they are 3 months at least even in piercing shops.

Now that she is two months I'm looking for where they use piercing guns instead because of the pain.

You should have done it when she was 24hours old.
At 2months she can feel pain a whole lot more.

Naomi14 they didn't allow...I even tried when she was 6 weeks...
where I delivered they don't pierce that young anymore.

Hi everybody longest time, hope our kids are doing great??

So something has been bugging me for sometime now,
Is it compulsory for the site where BCG is given to form abscess and leave a scar??

My son is 4yrs and no sign of anything so I told a doctor and we were asked to take a mantle test, which was negative.

I was told at the hospital, that sometimes d vaccine isn't given properly(can you imagine!!!) ,they said he can take the BCG again.

Don't know if I should just ignore it since his older, because I'm scared there might be side effects.

Please share your thoughts.
Thank you

Yea we were told same thing that if it doesn't give pus and scarring means it wasn't properly administered and should be repeated. However I don't know of the negative effects not having it gives cos me according to my mama didn't take bcg. You could have him retake it just to be at ease.

It was said that if by 6m, 9m, 1year, it is not swollen then you should go back to the health clinic. But then again, not everyone will have the swollen site. You need to go back to any immunization center and complain.

Sometimes it wasn't administered properly.

1. Yes, herbal concoctions can damage the liver, what you read is correct
2. 11kg at 10 months is fantastic. Some 1 year olds are struggling 9.5 to 10kg sef
3. You're right.
4. You are the owner of both the baby and the mother. No one here can advise how you will handle your mother, you should know best. If na MIL I for try grin May God give you wisdom

I don't know about compulsory but I know it's expected to
There's a way to test if the BCG antibodies are in his system, mantoux only checks if he has TB, please ask at a proper lab (Clinix, Clinalancet and co)
Me I won't take a risk with TB sha so I don't advise ignoring

Patience is the master key mama. Try finger foods that he can pick at eat by himself. Steamed carrots/apples. Other mamas who experienced this will advise.

46kg? shocked
Please have you checked your BMI?

1. I'm not an agbo advocate. I detest it. Will NEVER Co sign giving it to babies under 2 years.

3. I give ovaltine as opposed to milo from ten months. Just hot chocolate, no milk.

Not a must anymore. Things are changing and non-scarring vaccines is the way to go. I don't even have a scar myself.
