Can someone help us with the benefits of state police? The only one I know is stops dictators like Buhari from using them for his own personal agenda.

Benefits:
• local policemen who are part of your community.
• local police chain of command states with local government/state government. Which makes it easier to effect politically.
• local laws are better enforced.

The average citizen because they're closer to the citizens. The first reason is they don't get their job security from Abuja. Their pay is dependant on local taxes.

This is the right step in the right direction
State police will benefit all
They will defend their judistriction to the last
No more running to Abuja by the governors
They will be in charge of their own security outfit

It's now open season on the rampaging herdsmen

Its better. Let the state police who would be indegnes of the state plus the governors destroy their state. We will know who to hold responsible.
If there was state police in Benue state, Ortom wouldnt make a single noise and if he does, then we can call him a drowning man.
