Why are they snapping the non-motile plane, they should show us a video of it in action..

This is a college project in developed countries. It's good but with the sort of money Nigeria has, we can do way way better. Like constructing or research to create high definition rail or lazer guns or warships or some Fvcking cutting edge technology not Fvcking drones high school kids do as projects.

Funny, you're not even sure of what you are saying. This project started a long time ago, the first prototype was Amebo, at a time it could not even fly and personally I mocked the Airforce for showing the public what couldn't fly as an invention.
The research will later be advanced in partnership with a Portuguese firm and that birth Gulma.
Personally I don't see anything wrong with tapping into other countries technological expertise if it will help us achieve our goals.

You have your opinion and what you think are facts.

I have mine.

My brother our problem in this country is not just the politicians, we have funny mentality here too. I have seen numerous "inventions" here on nairaland that were praised some even calling government to assist them, when they were in fact piles of trash e.g helicopter and jet made of wood that can't fly, miniature cars (can't move too) and toy houses made of wood, etc. We need the change that mentality because many African countries now look like developed countries compared to Nigeria. We need to revamp our educational and industrial sectors and invest in massive research.

I’ve been spending a lot of time watching YouTube videos on African countries as part of a business plan that I’m writing.

My brother, ordinary Rwanda, previously war thorn Rwanda, will put Nigeria to shame in certain sectors.

We really need to put our leaders to task and the youths need to stop celebrating mediocrity.

Look at this video, a Nigerian tv station said “gifted Nigerian invented flying machine”.

What? You can order this from Aliexpress

Hahahaha, The caption is a disgrace to our system. I have seen RC planes on magazines and TV since when I was a kid. They are mostly used as toys. But this dude impressed me bro, he's uneducated and he made a wireless remote and understands the dynamics of how planes move, most Nigerian engineering graduates can't do that, I once met a trainee at my place of work who studied computer science but I had to teach him basics in python and SQL and I majored in Business , I wondered how he got selected. What I take in this case is, since RC planes aren't new or big deals, he can fine tune it to make something that can carry more payload and make into an ariel irrigation machine to distribute pesticides in farms, he'll do well if he can find the funding.

Uncle! If you do not know something please don't disgrace yourself. They are not talking about quadcopters or toy drones that carry camera.

It's a students project especially for schools with good funding. Do you know the 3D graphics for Pixar's incredicles were created by college students? Do you know how many high tech stuff in circulation right now that we're done as college projects? I saw college undergrads build a 3D printer which would be celebrated for months by our useless ministries if they did one. Just because Nigeria isn't developed doesn't mean you have to be ignorant. https://www.uasvision.com/2016/02/23/boeing-helps-qatar-university-college-to-build-uavs/

Read to your satisfaction.
Mind you, what we just built is a surveillance drone can't even carry ammunition or rocket propellers, the best it can have is a GPS or night vision. It doesn't have capability to spy another country because it can't travel far. It's the most basic of all UAV's. It's a toy compared to proper drones.

Sapiosexuality:
Baby science. The technology behind the drone is too simple, too crass that trying to project it as something extraordinary smacks of high level retardation. There's nothing significant in constructing a drone. It's baby science. I'm saying this because of some mummified minds who'd consider it a giant stride and the tribalists who think it's an edge. This is baby science.
Omo, have you constructed ordinary paper plane? angry
