She definitely made a good call!

You cannot manipulate others with your personal decision.

If the show is rubbish to you, please avoid watching it, for some of us, it is called entertainment, game, psycho-class, and mind-study.

You don't need to come online and spew trash all because you feel you have the freedom to express yourself.

Freedom of choice gives every human the right to choose what to enjoy and what to avoid.

Use yours and leave others to use theirs!

That is what human coexistence means.
what about olamide's science student?

But you can stop olamide's science student video

She didn't stop Olamide's science student video, the song was only banned on local radio and its not the first time we are seeing this. When video drops it will be banging on Trace naija and every other music channel on cable. And big brother naija does not broadcast on local channels so they have no power to ban it.

Re: Lauretta Onochie Speaks On Big Brother Naija And The Adult Content by VirtuosoB(m): 9:18am On Feb 19, 2018
Exactly my sentiments!

So many people just keep moaning about how "immoral" the show is, yet they are the same bunch of people attaching so much relevance to it; tweeting, gossiping, and even ranting.

But then, in the comfort of their homes, they stay glued to the supposed "immoral" show.

While watching TV has never been by compulsion, however, due to the relevance attached to it, some of us who are disinterested in the show keep being force fed every little detail of it everywhere we turn.

That is my own problem with it!

The bitter truth even though I'm not a fan of the show. There are so many other channels to choose from on DsTV and GoTV. Exercise your power of choice. No one is being forced to watch BBN.

Lauretta Onochie, a Special assistant to president Buhari on social media, has weighed in on the reality TV show called Big Brother Naija 2018.

According to Onochie, the Nigerian government has no power to move or stop immoralities on the show as it was an adult programme.

She wrote on her Twitter page;

"Stop asking me to fix Big Brother Naija. I Don’t have such powers. Big Brother is an adult programme. If your children are watching it, it’s your fault, not mine."

Yes, we understand you may not be able to interfere in the activities in the house, but you can do have liaise with the organizers to reduce the pay packages, reduce the luxury behind it, make it unattractive for our youths to longing to participate at all cost. make it 500k instead of 25million, relieve the suv and the endorsements afterwards. maybe they won't stop those rubbish they are doing. it's amazing and difficult to understand why a youthful tv programme as this will last 3 months and at the end of the day, there's no meaningful impact or any kind of positive influence, nothing at all to learn from at the end of 3 months, so why doing it exactly. but the best mathematics student on a tv debate will either go home with a carton of indomie or a pack of peak milk or milo. the child who builds artificial airplane with cartons at Anambra is not recognized, the ones manufacturering sandals at aba has no motivation at all from government or any of these stupid sponsors of this bb naija, we know you can't do anything to interfere with what they do in the house, but there's something you can do to curb the participation from the onset at all by deliberately limiting the luxuries behind the program itself. I think this will go a long way to shove our youths away from even buying the form and going to look for something better to do with their time and level of academic degrees if available.

The 'show' is not only on DsTV. The people behind it know that the sinister message will ultimately land in the social media space. The kids are already talking about it in schools this morning, even though their parents stopped them from watching it on DSTV. The kids are seeing the porn not on dstv but on so many channels in the social media space including NL.

banning BBN is absolutely wrong. I never knew BBN while growing up but today I know some porn sites . if BBN should be banned what of Xvideos, Xnxx pornhub Nairaland romance section YouTube etc. during my service year, I saw my students watching illicit videos, 10 yes old with six year old trying to have sex etc. And that is a state that claims to ban alcohol
parents are to blame if their kids watch the show, why would they complain wen they are supposed to do their jobs as parents.
I don't watch BBN and I have never watched the rubbish, its my choice, anybody who watches it made the choice to do so.
they are complaining yet millions of people will vote wen the time comes

Rather shameful that we have these advisers who dont think through or weigh the implications of their actions or inactions!

Whatever goes on in that house of porn will land in the social media space. FACT.

There is enough junk in that space that parents are fighting endlessly to manage. FACT.

BBN is indirectly created within the Nigerian space and under regulation by a FG body. FACT.

Why would an FG body not censor what is becoming celebrated PORN even when the citizens (including parents) are crying out?

This is like some section of a particular country saying 'we cant control guns', yet innocent children are murdered every time!

Our government is proving docile everyday, and showing their apathy towards things that are destructive in nature.

Her response is shameful. This is my own opinion.

Nigeria has a record number of stoopid pharisees, saducees and scribes. I've seen a lot of mumus asking what BBNaija teaches, how its such a useless programme bla bla bla... such stupid questions!

Must everything teach something? If you want to learn, go to a school; if you want moral education, go to a religious school or a church. BBN is entertainment, if it doesn't entertain you, it entertains millions of others. I dont watch BBN because I dont find it entertaining; but I have lots of friends who it entertains, so its a case o 'live and let others live'. Its just appalling how so many people just sit in their caves and are so worried over what entertains others. Even the bible calls such people 'busybodies', can't get their minds off the business of others.

It is still a parent's duty to monitor or limit what their kids do in the social media space. There is a lot of porn on social media and the internet already, raw porn much worse than BBN. If your child shouldn't be seeing such then don't give them an internet-enabled smartphone or computer. Or at least find out if you can block age-inappropriate content on these platforms on their gadgets. I'm a parent too and that is my duty, not DsTV's or the government.

The same reason a common uneducated footballer is earning in a month what a professor that spent over 30 years studying earns in 2 years. Its not a new thing, stop acting like u don't know being brilliant in school automatically means success. The world is not fair.

Is it shown on nta, tvc, mitv, silverbird, galaxy, mtg, ogtv, ontv, etc? Hell NO! It's shown on paytv,so if you watch it,you're responsible for your actions And moreover, you can ask them to block the channel from your subscription, simple as abc.

We are degenerating to the level that is very bad. Soon any man that is unable to impregnate the wife will ask the presidency to intervene. A program that is showing in a television you bought and kept in your house. You have the right to control whatever channels you want anyone to be watching, you can even sell them off or destroy them if you wish and I bet you government will not ask you to pay tax or disturb you at all for destroying them. You wount take any of these easy steps but to ask presidency to intervene by controlling what your children are watching and allow numerous important issues that are affecting the country.
