Mbaise People Are Setting The Pace. This Seed Of Discord Has Been Sown By Ahiara Mbaise, Soon Others Will Follow. By Then They Will Be Most Affected. He Who Leaves In A Glass House Does Not Throw Stones. Mbaise Boasts Of Producing More Priests More Than Italy (Rome), Time Of Payback Will Come When Parishes In Other Parts Igboland And Nigeria Will Reject Priests Of Mbaise Extraction. Then The Lamentation Will Start. Mbaise People, Where Is The Love?

That's hardly what I would describe as setting the pace. I don't think that is a negative term. But you are blowing a simplistic idea out of proportions. There is no justification why a Diocesan head should be transformed into an award for loyalty by a certain faction in the Church. Propaganda won't work here. It's not a matter of being an Mbaise Priest. Not even a matter of being an Igbo Priest. Let the Bishop be one who has experience how the Diocese is run. That is pretty straightforward. So many of them had spawned in the Diocese over so many years. If the faction decides to punish Mbaise preists, ignoring the voice of the church (the masses in the Diocese), then it is no different from their earlier plot. However, the people have refused to be dumb sheeple.

There is politics in the Church.
This has nothing to do with being Igbos.

Imo State has many priests..much more than you can imagine. Many are learned to impressive degrees. Many who understand the workings of the diocese in question. Ahiara Diocese in particular has produced so many Priests from all nooks and crannies of the country, many of whom are more than capable to run the Diocese.

And the best they could do is appoint 'their boys'..the priests after their own heart..to come take this 'reward' for loyalty.

Please, give to Caesar's what is Caesar's. We are not that blind. We were united when pushing Cardinal Arinze for the papacy because he had all it takes. We can't suddenly go dumb when we have what it takes to run our affairs.
See yourself? In God's church or your own church?
It's not a matter of creating propaganda that Mbaise people rejected priests from Mbaise recommended for bishops. We have had enough from this Nigerian government. Kindly state the Priests names.

Mazi Vitalis, so you're from Mbaise, my belove homeland? At the topic, though I'm not a Catholic member but I think people that knows nothing about the issue should just keep quiet and stop shouting igbo this and igbo that. In the whole of Imo State, Mbaise has the highest number of Catholic priests and the most qualified ones for such post. So, how can someone from from believe that he can continue to suppress the will and wish of a whole people just to install his stooge on over qualified one to determine their "catholical" bearing?

My brother I'm an ibeku boy in aboh mbaise

Reason why I believe this una Biafra nonsense is all a ruse. God will NEVER allow such self destructive idea to come to fruition.

Even an hausa or youruba pentecostal cannot insult Cardinal Arimze.

I spit on the idea Biafra!

It is said he who comes to equity must come with clean hands and he comes to church must come with clean minds and pure hearts. I doubt if we actually come to church with good mind. The bishop's debacle was really a shame and unbelievably coming from a community that ascribed to themselves over 80% Catholics. It is a real shame beside that, the Cardinal who I know very well is from Eziowelle, under Onitsha Archdiocese is not in anyway related to Okpaleke who is Awka diocese.

Catholicism has no boundary hence the church is universal. You can join the opening of mass in lagos, follow the gospel reading in brasil, have communion in australia and final blessing in new york.

A priest is born in Ireland, becomes a mass server in san francisco california and serves in lagos/bodija-ibadan as a priest.

He died in Nigeria and was never even a monsignor but touched so many lives.

We are catholics first, be you a monsignor, monsineur, bishop, archbishop, cardinal or the pope.
You are all Catholic Priests.

The rest are administrative positions to manage the church seamlessly.

Ahiara diocese is taking the church back to an era corrected with the appointment of Pope John Paul II to date that not only Italians can be pontiff.

While one appreciates the contribution of Ahiara Diocese to the priesthood, been a Bishop is not a birthright.

A Bishop can be posted anywhere to serve.

From Ahiara to the Vatican, politics still needs to leave the church.

When did you get to determine what constitutes being "qualified" for Bishop? Post the qualifications of the other priests in comparison with Okpaleke, let's see. So what if they have the highest number of priests? Imo churns out more graduates than Anambra or Ogun or Edo, yet produces less accomplished professionals and technocrats. Since when did the volume of priests equate to attaining the highest qualifications?

You really do have to quit this "we can't be intimidated twaddle", as if he's talking about a war. You take yourselves far too seriously. The juvenile recalcitrance of the diocese has nothing to do with "intimidation".

I'm still waiting for you to provide evidence that the cardinal, Arinze, in the Vatican had anything to do with the ordination and posting of Bishops. Seems a conspiratorial fantasy you concocted among yourselves to justify your rascality and play the victim.

Same way you should provide evidence we rejected the names our past bishop dropped as possible replacement

No, I don't have to do that as I didn't make the allegation. Why should I provide "evidence" for what I never asserted? grin It's like me saying you should provide evidence that 2+2=5.

You on the other hand made an allegation that you cannot back up with any evidence. Probably driven by resentment and playing the victim, you basically just concocted the narrative that because an Anambra man from Onitsha diocese is a Cardinal in Rome, therefore all these bishops being ordained from Awka diocese must be the declaration of the Anambra man in the Vatican. And yet, you have no shred of evidence to support the claim.

You can't get to vertican without cardinal arinze

He decides who goes and who stays he is the pope eye in Nigeria

So the only option left was the media and protest
that's not true, cardinal Arinze is not the papal nuncio, or whatever they call them, the Pope has a rep in Nigeria, I know cardinal Arinze would have certain influence, but we have two other cardinals in Nigeria, we even have influential Catholics in the country that have access to the Vatican. am not sure all these channels were exhausted.
