I taught computer classes at a primary school in a small farming village in Ghana a couple of years ago. We had to teach it exactly like this because even though the school I was at had a computer lab (which is uncommon) there was only electricity about 25 precent of the time there. It was interesting to see how on days that we did not have power we ended up teaching them more because the kids always got distracted on the computers.

I can bet you those kids didn't learn anything cos the thing will be sounding like its from the moon nothing beats the practical were every one has a computer if you say press enter key every one will see and press it... That's why the white folks are far more better how can you compare sm1 who started learning programing at the age of six to sm1 who just heard of it at the age of 25... I don't know why I woke up in this part of the world

Let No One be amazed to see one of those kids becoming a world-wide acclaimed computer guru. Some who have computers and even power supply who are busy uploading their selfies today will still in future celebrate the achievements of these kids in the world of computing. This teacher tried in such a terrible environment, some teachers here would have just complained and use the situation to leave the students doing nothing. When one has will, one shall find a way no matter what.

I remember those days when Biology teacher would draw so many things on the board and label them. Amoeba, Algae, etc. So many things i didn't see with my eyes.

the post says the students gained more than when they had real experience in the computer lab due to distractions, i guess that is the part the person you mentioned was referring you to
