what about the heat emitting from the bulb, isn't that gonna melt the disposable cups since they are made from elastic plastics.

That is a fire outbreak in the making. Did your design factor in the heat from the light bulbs? I am sure those cups are not heat insulators.
there are energy bulbs which emits little or no heat..you don't need to condemn the effort because you think you are literate enough to make a comment.

and OP
why lied you recycled by picking used disposable cups at events and weddings?,

it's clearly seen that you used unused ones to do that and don't device your talent by making it look like a cheap act.

Most people use these cups just once, and throw them away. He may have washed the cups thoroughly after use and dried them, which is why they still look neat. Obviously, he would only use the ones that are still in good condition. So why are you in such a hurry to call him a liar?? shocked

I admire your ingenuity, but isn't the price range a bit on the high side compared to an actual chandelier.

High side keh. Do you know how much chandelier lamps are sold?

You are the only one here with rational and active mind.
While the creativity is plausible, the fire safety wasn't considered in the design. But I think such suggestions can help him improve. He has a choice to either use heat resistant materials or use bulbs with negligible heat emission. While the later option might appear desirable, source of energy is another consideration to make. That is DC or AC. A spark is enough to ignite those plastics as they are highly flammable.

the bulbs used are mostly led or those Christmas lights that emits very low heat and can barely melt anything

Such criticism is what makes design better and more feasible. He should be happy that someone pointed that out.

Led bulbs don't generate heat per se.its your traditional incandescent bulbs that get hot.

It's one of them.

The first is the compact fluorescent bulb, those spiral bulbs.

The second newer one is the led bulb. As the bulbs he's using appear to be round, I'd say he's using led.

Both consume much less energy than traditional bulbs, especially if you are using original (Philips, osram, Ge)

Yea, I know those spiral bulbs. I think I have seen 'osram' too.
I thought at such proximity, they'll all do harm to those plastic cups. Thanks for the elucidation. Kindly forgive my ignorance.
