I got an amazing deal in the last 6 months which I'd like to share with you guys. Have you heard of airbnb? When next you travel, you may just give them a try in case you are staying long. I got ridiculous deals with discounts, as low as 29USD a night for my proposed long stay on up-scaling health projects. You feel at home with their deals globally cos they're far better than hostels. I had stayed in private hostels with students countless times back in the days with higher rates per night(can't forget students' noise and bunks stacked side by side). Those who were once in my shoes would understand the hostel experience better smiley . Most of their property are private bedrooms with amazing facilities. Good luck!

It's like paper route Canada TRV takes long now oh, my hotel bookings are being cancel, received email yesterday, because I refused to pay a non refundable deposit, cause I needed to be sure of my Visa first, flight booking is for 21st if all the bookings get cancelled and the embassy has not concluded on my application, doesn't that translate to a refusal?

@adefreshguy, I think you will need to answer the coming to canada Questionnaire all over again. This time around, when you're asked if you have access to a scanner, you have to pick yes. Also yes for having the means to make payment online. I think basic questions like those are where you missed it. Try this and let's know the outcome.

. all u need is During your intermediate international stop over, if you have sufficient time and you want to tour the city and/or country, you may apply for transit visa at the appropriate counter at the airport. A transit visa is a temporary short period visa during your journey.

"Appropriate counter at the airport"? For Canada? You MUST get the TRV or transit Visa first before you can board a plane headed in that direction.

US and Canada will not even allow you transit through them without first obtaining a corresponding visa before heading their direction. It is bad to the extent that if you don't have both country's visas even when traveling to the one you have a visa for, you still can't transit via the other, talk less of visa free Barbados.

Good morning house,

Please I need your advise on how to go over this issue. A cousin just lost his sister who is married in Canada and due to the high cost of ferrying her corpse back home, the family is contemplating burying her over there.

The issue is, the family wants to send some representatives to attend the burial ceremony over there but wants guidance on how to go over the visa application process, the type of visa to apply for and documents that will be needed.

Thanks

Hey gurus
I'm a Caribbean medical student who's university does clinical rotations in the us. I applied for a US B1/B2 visa to do my clinicals in the us and was denied last week. My university has hospitals its affiliated with in Canada where you can do only elective rotations. I want to see if I can apply for a Canadian visa and do electives in Canada while cooling off to reapply for the us one. Is this advisable? If yes what do I need and how do I go about applying? I have paid my tuition and my dad has a Canadian visa tho he hasn't used it yet. He's retired with pension of 700k+ monthly. What are my chances? Thanks.

Hello,
Please, has anyone applied for TRV without proof of financial support as stated in the new checklist . It's stated that if you have an existing US visa, you don't need proof of financial support for your TRV application

Good evening friends, please I need your help. I applied for a tourist visa through my agent and I submitted and did biometric on 30th Nov 2017. I was told it will be ready within 25-60 working days so I went home to relax but it's over 40 working days now, so I made some enquiries and was able to track it via vsf website and it displayed YOUR VISA AS BEEN PROCESSED. The date was 5th of December 2017 . 6 days after I submitted. So I went to collect it today and they dropped a letter in my application saying "You didn't pay for Visa and biometric and resubmit your documents " which I paid online $185 through my agent and I have the print out and it was together with the other documents I submitted. Called my agent n he said he never heard of so before that he paid bla bla bla... So I don't even know what else to do... Please help.

Go and query your agent very well, this is not a mistake by cic. The only thing that must have happened is that a fraudulent card was used to pay for your visa fee after which the card owner went to claim a charge back from cic which they have no option but to return the money to the card owner meaning you didn't pay for your application.

Now the implication here is you will need to pay twice if you will be submitting another application, ie you will have to pay for the rejected application and then the new application you will submit. They will keep denying your application based on the same reason until you first of all clear the outstanding 185cad (coz as we speak your account is already in -185cad) and then pay for a new application to be submitted.

You can only be able to pay for the outstanding 185 via phone when you have call their account and payment office in Ottawa or so. It is until you do this you can then submit and pay for a new application, otherwise they will deny your application within 2/3 days of submission.
After clearing your outstanding, you need to request from whoever you speak to on the phone for a receipt that will show that your outstanding has been settled and that you are not owing again. Try and attach this to your next application and provide a brief explanation of what happened without shooting yourself at legs.

Some of these agents are pure heartless evils you should never go close to..

Thanks for your response, I understand here in US, the fastest and easiest way of getting your resident permit is by marrying a citizen, I need an idea of how this works in Canada, does your having a child there gives the parent any right?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by nadina: 5:14am On Feb 23, 2018
You can migrate legally to Canada through the permanent residency route(express entry). That's the easiest way.

There are no benefits in having a child in Canada ,apart from the child being a Canadian citizen. The status of the parents remain same irrespective of birthing in Canada.

Best advice is for you to include proof of financial support in your application just to be on the safe side.
It will make no difference if you add it up. If they don't want it, it may be overlooked by the VO. Thanks.

I decided to check out EXPEDIA, dont know if you are familiar with it. My itinerary shows im gonna depart Lagos for Frankfurt via Lufthansa, and from frankfurt to Toronto via AirCanada, and From Toronto to Bridgetown via the same Airline.
Now my brother, i seek your patience and understanding in attending to me. Like i said, i chose barbados becasue of its visa free policy to most countries, at least from online sources, so i could have a travel experience.
Upon browsing the link https://www.expedia.com/Flights-Search?flight-type=on&starDate=05%2F06%2F2018&endDate=05%2F15%2F2018&_xpid=11905%7C1&mode=search&trip=roundtrip&leg1=from%3ALagos%2C+Nigeria+%28LOS-Murtala+Muhammed+Intl.%29%2Cto%3ABridgetown%2C+Barbados+%28BGI-Grantley+Adams+Intl.%29%2Cdeparture%3A05%2F06%2F2018TANYT&leg2=from%3ABridgetown%2C+Barbados+%28BGI-Grantley+Adams+Intl.%29%2Cto%3ALagos%2C+Nigeria+%28LOS-Murtala+Muhammed+Intl.%29%2Cdeparture%3A05%2F15%2F2018TANYT&passengers=children%3A0%2Cadults%3A1%2Cseniors%3A0%2Cinfantinlap%3AY I decided to settle for the first one, being the cheapest ($3,910)
I then had to speak with a colleague who has been travelling and also assisting people to travel. He told me I do not need to get any transit visas to both Germany (frankfurt airport) and Canada (Toronto airport) since i wont be going into the countries.
That transit is useful for those that would be going into town (outside the airport)briefly. He went on to say that there are differnt immigration routes for those waiting for a connecting flights and those who are disembarking and going into frankfurt/canada. He only told me that if i am sure that Barbados only stamp on one's passport uppon arrival, that i have no issue. He went on to say that our own airport officials would not deny me travelling through the point of exit if truly the end destination (Barbados) is visa free to me. That they would only make sure that I have the right tickets. Please, kindly confirm or enlighten me on this as much as you can. This will be my first travel experience. Thank you
will be having 8 hr 5min stop in Frankfurt, and 15hrs 45 mins stop in Toronto. I will only be within the airport for the connecting flight to Bridgetown in Barbados

I am only waiting for confirmation form Barbadian govt to reply my email on the procedure to getting my passport stamped. I just want to be sure it is from there and not from here. IF there's anyone in the house who has traveled to barbados bfore, pls help
