Any person that can be angry enough to do this to a phone, has serious violence tendencies. That's what I am more concerned about.

They start from smashing phones, TV sets, punching walls... then humans. Slow and steady, he'll get to her.

That said, I don't believe a cutlass sliced through that phone like that. I also don't know what she mean by 'privacy' in a marriage.
Any lady that can hide phone password in her marriage can also be capable of keeping a secret boyfriend...that's how it's starts until she starts fvcking everyone on the block

Except he bought the phone with his money
But if my money bought a phone and a man in the name of husband demands my password (Yeah, cos I always lock all my mobile devices) and proceeds to damage my phone,he will not live to regret it.

Arrant nonsense!
Men don't allow women get close to their phones yet they want to live inside women's phones...

I no touch your phone, what's your business with my phone?

Keep kwayeet and stop ranting.

What are you hiding that you cannot give your passcode? are you exchanging nudes with some men on watsapp?
What is it that you dont want your"husband" to see?

If he destroys, you will do what? Maybe end the marriage?

Good riddance...living with a cheaT with a truck load of secrets that she is ready to protect at all cost is dead sentence already

So you want privacy right?

That means when you are undressing, you husband should go out of the room right?

What are you even talking about? Its better you stay single than marry with this your mentality...or better still look for a sissy you can control to marry

Still baffles me how ANYONE AT ALL would make any attempt to justify this uncivilized, barbaric, beastly, untra-possessive and over-obsessive behaviour! It defies all logic.

But look, not just one person, but a lot of them, finding faults with the woman and ignoring the psychopath whose lunacy is not only dangerous to his family, but to all human beings around him.

I've always known your own head functions well grin

This is how that Maryam witch started, till she stabbed her husband to death over text message. I wonder why people ain't noticing the man has more issues than the wife.

If she fcks everyone on the block you divorce her, It's that simple. Lots of married men lock their phones and fck everyone on the block, it doesn't mean their wives should go brandishing sharp weapons. Divorce him!

U can't be in ur husbands house and be playing hanky pinky games. Those are games u played while u were single. I don't subscribe to such brutality from the guy but still I don't blame him or any man who even goes further to pummel the woman. Once you are married, u have given up ur freedom
if marriage is all you've written, I'd rather be single till eternity.

Firstly bruh, it's OUR HOUSE.
I would not live in a house I Also didn't contribute financially to. He's my husband, not my father.

Secondly, I am a very private person. And would continue being that person FOREVER. I wouldn't trade that for anything . because I choose to lock my phone doesn't mean I am cheating on him, What is with y'all and over possessiveness? What is it with the repulsive OWNERSHIP mentality? She is your wife, not a property.

It is a marriage, not a prison. Only prisoners give up their freedom. I refuse to be one.

am I missing something? U tried to justify the man's action by saying every man ain't my dad, I countered by telling you not all men are beasty in nature like you tongue. Ohh did I miss the part where the op said wife not girlfriend?? Exactly what are you justifying. That a full grown man behaving baby by destroying his wife phone with a cutlass, such a beast can kill someone with a weapon. There are easy and non violent ways to deal with this kinda stuffs

Madam, the moment he paid your bride price, your privacy was part of the things he paid for. After spending 1.5m for traditional marriage den anoda 1.5m for white wedding n reception, you come dey say u get privacy, say d man na beast. Werey le leyi ooo. Oya sponsor d marriage to keep ur privacy.

NO. I'd rather marry a sane human. Someone that trusts me and doesn't have a family history of madness and latent paranoia.

Listen to urself once again, wot exactly are u being private about after una don marry? Wot exactly is dat information dat shldn't b shared with ur husband rightfully? Then she shld've stayed single in her house pressing phone and keeping passwords and all sorts of secret.

Also I'm not justifying his action even if he bought the fone, jst stating dat it cld've ended alot worse than him destroying an inanimate and replaceable object.

Lest u forget again, pls tell me wot privacy she's seeking after taking her matrimonial vow to be one with her husband in life and death?

HOGWASH.

Marriage constitutes a man and a woman.
If your wife to be isn't financially stable to support your marriage and the financial Responsibilities that come with it. Then, don't marry. Nobody sent you to marry liabilities and come screaming on nairaland.

exactly why it is called privacy. Everyone should respect that.

One question... What would be your reaction if the tables were turned? If it was the other way round? He hid the passwords from his wife and she broke his phone? What would you say?

A man was said to have damaged his wife's phone for not telling him her password. According to an online report, the husband sliced the phone with a cutlass after obtaining the handset from the wife.

Chibuzor Sandra Jim Ananaba‎ shared the below on Facebook on behalf of the owner;

"My jealous husband did this to my phone. Just because I couldn't give him it's password. The phone is mine for crying out loud, what should I do?" He said I should come and watch him slice it as onions I taught he was joking .he then took cutlass and hit the phone so hard it divided into two, This is my privacy ,can't I have privacy in my home?

you also are oblivious to What and how marriage should be. Don't give your future wife the feeling that she is being chained, suffocated and compressed. You wouldn't like the outcome.

When women rebel, they do it without thinking.

Though I don't believe this sliced phone story, I'm just wondering why a married woman or man should be talking about privacy.

Who said there's anything called privacy in marriage?

If you know you still need "privacy" then remain Single.

I've always advised niggas against girls who're too obsessive and possessive. And the ladies should be wary of men with such tendencies too.

The Greeks identified a kind of love known as Mania, where your partner believes they own you absolutely and completely----they want to erase the SUBJECT in you and make you their OBJECT.

Every human being should run away from manic "love". That woman is best advised to leave the man NOW. It's dangerous being around him.

Like I'd always say, WHAT ARE YOU WITHOUT YOUR PRIVACY?

There's a reason why we have a PERSONA and a SHADOW, and the moment a person has total objective knowledge of you, you're no longer a person.
