Tinubu/Oyegun Rift: APC Governors back Oyegun

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has said that the governors of All Progressive Congress, APC, has (have) backed the party’s National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun over the rift with Chieftain Asiwaju Tinubu.

Bello disclosed this to state house correspondents after their meeting with president Muhammadu Buhari when he met them at Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja late Thursday night.

Bello, while addressing State House reporters after the two-hour closed-door meeting, said the APC governors have confidence in Oyegun on the allegation by the national leader of the APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, that the party's national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, was sabotaging the ongoing reconciliation efforts.

“The governors and majority of APC members, have confidence ‎in our national chairman, Chief John Oyegun. We also believe in the president by appointing Bola Tinubu, our leader, to reconcile some aggrieved members of our party".

However, one-size-fits-all will not work and all the states where some erring members need to be disciplined," he said.

Tinubu had, in a letter to Oyegun, faulted what he called the “hurried” inauguration of a caretaker committee of the APC in Kogi State.

"In Kogi, you rushed to the state, to unilaterally inaugurate a new set of state officials, parallel to the officials already heading the state chapter of the party. While this may place you in significant affinity with those parallel officials you had picked, this machination suggests no improvement in the welfare of the party in Kogi State or at the national level.

“This usurpation of authority exacerbates conflict and confusion. It doesn’t resolve it. It is my understanding that the dissolution of the
duly constituted state executive and the hurried naming of the above mentioned group wasn’t approved by the NWC," Tinubu had stated in the letter.

Tinubu has allowed himself to be rubbished by accepting to be a reconciliation Chairman for a failed party called APC because of greed

These people will go to any length to render tinubu and the influence he wields very insignificant. He didn't think well b4 he accepted the Greek gift from the dullard. It could even be the plan of the President and his cohorts(midget of Kaduna) to nail his national political coffin.

Tinubu should be smarter with his game, he showed his hand too early with that letter. Oyegun's backers are definitely going to mobilize around him and frustrate Tinubu

What ever happens to Tinubu is good for him. He brought Buhari upon nigeria, he was sidelined, and yet fell for Bubu again.

Final humiliation of the jagaban.

Tinubu's problem is not knowing when to walk away. He was used and dumped the first time, and now he walked into his own humiliation.

Oga Tinubu...

Re: Tinubu/Oyegun Rift: APC Governors Back Oyegun by afroniger:
Tinubu should not have accepted Buhari's offer to reconcile the warring factions in the party because it is already too late. How can Buhari give Tinubu an assignment without giving the authority and powers to execute it? It is not by just announcing in the media. Oyegun was obviously not happy about what Buhari did so he was bound to sabotage Tinubu. Therefore the assignment was bound to fail. It is almost as if Buhari set a trap for Tinubu. I foresee APC losing some states in the upcoming election.

Tinubu has no choice. If he doesn't accept it, he looses the remaining influence he has in the party and he cannot break away at this point. So the Era of the great Jagaba installing Governors and Legislators throughout the south west is coming to an end. He has created a monster that is swallowing him.
