This is getting interesting. I think drivers should be grateful that someone is willing to put 2m Naira down to employ his service so he could feed his family.

You should go and see how that man made that 2m Naira before running your mouth. Stop been ungrateful in this period of recession.
I have never heard of an employee making more money than his/her employer, it doesn’t matter whether it’s e-hailing business.

The sharing formula should be 70/30 after Uber fee, fuel, data, car wash and miscellaneous.

Investor takes 70%, driver takes 30%.

Investor puts 50% aside to recoup his capital and car maintenance.
Investor takes 20% profit for his upkeep.

If investor decides to fix his money in any bank instruments, he is assured of his initial capital at the end of the year. People go into business so they can recoup their capital and even re-capitalize with a higher margin.

By the way why are partners not opting for percentage, that way everyone will share the burden of downtime, more like EARN AS YOU GO.

So we should equally be grateful to banks and private organisations. It's your type that believe that just because someone works for them, you are doing them a big favour. That's a poor mentality. Change it. Everyone needs everyone, drivers and partners inclusive

Yes be grateful for anything you have, nobody owes you anything. I will forever be grateful to Dangote for investing over $12b in lekki free trade zone, it has nothing to do with poor mentality.

Your ministers are abroad trying to attract foreign investors, when they finally land on your soil try not to be grateful and watch them move elsewhere.

Its never about bragging or who does it best ... it is always about CONSISTENCY over a period of time. This we have achieved since Nov 2016.

@vulpeslopez drove one of my kia rio and over time he proved himself true and Strait. His achievements is PERFECT, we were able to manage his down times and achieved a consistent return.

Below is his output from day one to the last drop he dropped the vehicle on the 20th of Feb

Note : he was on a 38k weekly payment (5k was kept aside for emergency)

We have consistently managed our vehicles and they have work 3months or more without Major issues.

We don't just talk ... we talk with results.. Results which we have achieved by partnering with @gazzuz and also by sourcing great and smart drivers as @vulpeslopez.

I’m not here to argue back and forth. The continent remains poor and dark because of entitled mentality, and you need to travel out more to see how people are grinding.

Ask Uber drivers in USA how much they pay car rental companies as opposed to them buying the car outrightly.

As for the simpleton calling me a small boy, I bet I am way way older than you. Since you are such a Liberal and simpleton what would you have us say to those hard working danfo drivers earning far less than 100k monthly. I know that you want to push us all into your irrational argument that Uber job is very difficult and risky, but let's sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya instead.

By God’s grace I have been very successful and still continue to stay in a paid employment and always show appreciation for my employers giving me the opportunity to develop in my career and my finance. I will never be so foolish to commonize the investment of my employer, and they will continue to be my “small god” as long as I work for them.

Maybe you should go and read CBN report on how much cash an average Nigerian has in his/her bank account and then just maybe you would appreciate that partner putting down millions to invest on Uber.

For your information, I drive my own car. I do only what is realistic cos I’ve realized that health is wealth.

I heard u saying driving 15hours daily will give 160k, I never knew u have a calculator for uber. My friend, pple wait in LEKKI for 90minutes now before request comes. It was never like dat before. The only days u get back to back requests now is on weekends. Stop sitting at d comfort of your home and be calculating what happens on d road. U base ur conclusions on what drivers post on nairaland, but what u don’t know is drivers won’t post d days they didn’t make enough.
You need to learn from people that are doing good my brother. Health is wealth for the lazy. Somebody posted is earninga doing part time. Why don't you call him and get some pointers . Also plan at the same time. Work smart not hard

[quote author=GAZZUZZ post=65377161]some of forget about quality of life of a driver that spends too much time on the job.

With time they will get burnt out.

Most drivers on the UBER and Taxify platforms do not have a spiritual life any more, Friday sat and Sundays are the most profitable days, and they are spent on the road.

Sustainability is key, keeping drivers happy doing what they do is important.

As I said earlier. A tired driver will go home to rest if he is on a flexible workable plan. A driver on a higher target will try to defy nature, and there are consequences.

A driver on a flexible workable plan will not work all through the night, he will pace himself.

this does not mean that there are drivers who will still take advantage of the lower weekly payments and decide to work like robots, but that's where the job of a fleet manager comes in, he monitors driver earnings, and the number of hours driver spends on the Job, and the times. If driver is given a corrola 2005 and he loves all nighters fleet manager will swap driver with a kia or a city reason is simple, he has lowered the risk of theft of the vehicle. no one will want to steal a rio or city.

There is more to fleet management than paying 50k a week.

Quality of life? In life you have to decide on how you want to achieve your goals. You might have to put aside the luxury of comfort for the mean time. And have these attitude of get rich or die trying. Once you achieve your goals, than you can relax a bit

Not at the risk of the lives of other road users and another man's investment.
A combination of overworked driver and car is just an accident waiting to happen.
Do you realize some danfo drivers run shifts?

I think another misconception is a lot of people thinking the driver earns more than the car owner.

I have noticed here in Nigeria, when we talk of business, we always talk in terms of gross profit and not net profit.

Imagine a driver that makes 100k after Uber deductions. He will give partner 40k, then he will say he is making more money than the partner. How on earth is that possible.

What of all the expenses he incurred like fuel, internet, feeding while driving, small car fixing, car washing etcCost of phone calls? Most people don't factor in all these expenses.

In uber business, industry average expenses is 20% of your net earnings from uber.
So if you say you make 100k, at least you'll spend average of 20k weekly(if not more than) on the expenses listed above.

So you're left with 80k. Idf you remove 40k weekly rentals, you're left with 40k.

So your making just about the same money with partner if you do 100k net weekly. Anything less than 100k, you're not.

I am on rampage this week .... Its never about HOW MUCH u give out ur vehicle weekly nor about HOW MUCH the driver makes VS what YOU make .... Its about how consistent ur weekly payouts come VS maintenance/repairs cost VS downtimes .

We have been able to achieve a CONSISTENT payout while managing our own vehicles under strict CONDTIONS. Within years of our operation from NOV 2016 to date, we have only one car breakdown but not after the car brought in good returns.

Below is a 2010 Kia Forte on our fleet, bought in MAY 2017 and still running (pic taken in Dec 2017)

We have partnered with the right people @gazzuz @axamansard, so we know our investment MUST return in due time

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Carshopper(m): 8:19am On Feb 27, 2018
Everyone sees this e-hailing differently, to some, earnings has to take care of particular demands / bills, etc at the home front (I did this too)

To others, it's an investment that will bring back earnings over a period of time (10months - 2years), while still having ownership to the asset and maybe selling off at a particular point, moving on to another business.

To most, it's playing around with stash they have no urgent need to use within that time frame. So they just let the cash dance around different investments and see what light is at the end of the tunnel.

Finding the reason you are going into e-hailing biz makes it easier to put a figure on ur weekly rental and have a steady run. Don't give in because u heard 'there is money to be made ', transport bizness has one of the highest losses than gains.

Build partnerships that works for every one involved. Right now I am encouraging Driver - partners on my fleet to build an 'ajoo system' within themselves. I am not in the school of thought that a Driver has to 'slave' just on ur matter... I encourage drivers to save up and move on from been driver-partner to partner-driver. Ownership brings a sense of belonging.
