I’m not here to argue back and forth. The continent remains poor and dark because of entitled mentality, and you need to travel out more to see how people are grinding.

Ask Uber drivers in USA how much they pay car rental companies as opposed to them buying the car outrightly.

As for the simpleton calling me a small boy, I bet I am way way older than you. Since you are such a Liberal and simpleton what would you have us say to those hard working danfo drivers earning far less than 100k monthly. I know that you want to push us all into your irrational argument that Uber job is very difficult and risky, but let's sit around the campfire and sing Kumbaya instead.

By God’s grace I have been very successful and still continue to stay in a paid employment and always show appreciation for my employers giving me the opportunity to develop in my career and my finance. I will never be so foolish to commonize the investment of my employer, and they will continue to be my “small god” as long as I work for them.

Maybe you should go and read CBN report on how much cash an average Nigerian has in his/her bank account and then just maybe you would appreciate that partner putting down millions to invest on Uber.

Oga. You are doing no one but yourself a favour. Your are in the business fir money not charity. Don't think you are helping anyone.

Finally have you ever worked for any white, Lebanese or Chinese man before? Chinese men work twice as hard as Africans and the white man would make sure you work for every penny he pays you. guys, your thoughts please,

I have a slight issue with my uber app. I cant go online.

It keeps displaying that message about one of your document pending review, or expired, or rejected. Its referring to my driver's license. It recently expired, but I've renewed it and they've accepted it, because it shows the current expiry date of the license.

yet, i cant go online. My account is active, but i still cant go online.

Has this happened to anyone? what did you do?

No employee in the world spends their money in the running a business. All employees give their time and skill and get paid in return.

By the time someone begins to spend their money for a business, they are no longer an employee but a stake holder.

Drivers in the e-hailing business are not employees of car owners, they are stake holders. So no single person is doing the other a favor, they are both adding value collectively.

You asked if mtn is paying employees 50% of their profit... Let me also ask you if an employee in mtn will use his money to buy Diesel into mtn generator?

If you want uber driver to be an employee, then pay for fuel and all other running costs, after which you now pay the driver a fixed salary. I think Ogunvic fleet company has a model that runs like that.

So don't get it twisted

That's the difference. You are making gods out of what puts good on your table, other people are making gods out of their ideas.

There's a reason why Nigeria is a backward society, unable to progress. it has to do with the majority mentality and popularly accepted modes of thought and action (aka values). This isn't the account I use for my failed social activism. I'm here to try to make some money, but sometimes I just can't help it. Im deeply sorry for this country with our self-inflicted sorrow. It never leaves them wherever they go in the world; just that proper countries won't let them go all-out in their Nigerian filth as they would here

Your argument is baseless. Uber drivers don’t fuel the car from their own take home. Uber drivers remain employees just like any other job, and if they want to become partners then let them put down 1m Naira as part of car purchase, my friend that to me is partner.

Uber refers to investors as partners because Uber does not have the money to put 10,000 cars on its fleet in every region they operate, so they heavily rely on investors money and rightfully refer to them as partners. Try and follow the Estonian Taxify guy from its start up and how money was a huge set back for him.

Uber and many multinational companies have only liquid assets in Nigeria because they are very smart and don’t trust our system and it’s people to build massive infrastructure or office headquarters here. Any magomago they declare bankruptcy and move sharp sharp like olx because of people with mindset like you.

If you really want to become my partner and share profit with me 50/50, then bring your own 1m Naira or hide your face. Let’s change the narrative please

Thanks for the retort. The Nigerian stupidity is gradually forcing me to start commenting on this thread. Ive been reading over 60 pages quietly, preparatory to becoming involved in the biz, but I just couldn't cope today. Let me put on my activist cap and repeat: all of Nigeria's problems are caused and perpetuated by the Nigerian people. Their worldview is emblematic of savage, pre-1500 human beings. We shouldn't even be allowed to drive cars (a 19th century invention) in this country

Not at the risk of the lives of other road users and another man's investment.
A combination of overworked driver and car is just an accident waiting to happen.
Do you realize some danfo drivers run shifts?

Yes not at risk of others. This is were planning comes in. Uber should a hustle. You do it for a while achieve your goals and move on. That is what am saying bro. When u hustle u make plans on how to hustle without killing yourself.
Some drivers on the platform work only weekends. And some days during the week. And they still deliver and spend time with their family. It's all about planning my brother. Work smart not hard

You say stakeholders? How much can they earn from the sale of their stake?
Everyone at least spends on transportation to and from work or meals while at work. Uber drivers walk to their employer's car and get to work, they are allowed to take over the vehicle running cost because it will be easier for them that way than to wait for car owner to come do that for them. They are expected to be able to take initiative and hence the responsibility of fueling and keeping vehicle clean is considered when the remittance is worked, or would you rather a driver was going to collect money for fuel and car wash from owner on a daily basis and paying more than the current average weekly remittance?

Thank you jare.
But I still earn more than my partner.
In fact 20% more.
If he doesn't like it, let him comman collect steering..

If there are no cars, there won't be driver partners and vice versa.

It's a symbiotic relationship.

Keep your cars at home and don't partner with drivers.
Nobody will die

P.S.

I understand your point but u really need to know what a stakeholder means. An employee can be a stakeholder reason for this is a STAKEHOLDER can be whatever can AFFECT and be AFFECTED by an organization actions. partners can be a shareholder in uber while drivers can be employee/stakeholder to the partners because in as much the driver is in charge of some aspect of maintenance on the car he is directly putting his own quota to the business.
