......And When the majority of people who are invited for this interview does not fall under the three Pioneer Faculties, one will begin to wonder what is going on...I think NMU should address this and other issues such as... Are they Still sending SMS to shortlisted candidates or they are done with that?.Let us know so that we can relax our nerves and move ON .Please, did anybody receive SMS from the Department Of Port Management?.... Before I forget,I want to say a big Congratulations to those who have been contacted... Success to you all & don't forget to update us after the interview.God bless NMU too!

2 days and we are done. 1st and 2nd.

But everybody is requested to be around on the first.

Regards

Thank you for the updates so far.
Do you mean everybody both invited and uninvited should come on the first day (1st March, 2018)?

some questions are just nerve-wracking.

If you were not invited, what exactly are you coming to do? Clear grass?

Dear Mr NMU University,@poster
Firstly, You need to address some issues here as someone that is really entrusted to represent the school on social media, and try to be polite and professional about it. Many jobless nigerian youth staked their lives to travel through the waters to submit application for the positions published on national dailies as the law rightly demands and at the point of submission the applications were carefully peruse to ensure that the applicant did the right thing.
Now, you guys are selectively inviting pple for interview and so many people were not invited. There is no explaination for that. All you could post is that you are done.
In your own sense of judgement, is there anything like transparency on it? Is NMU a private institution or federal government estalishement?
Is this the kind of integrity you have been boasting about?
Kindly give explainations .
Thanks

you are a poor social media handler. You do not deserve the job. Better alight from your high pedestal and learn the art of effective communication. Mtschwww

You are doing a poor job with your replies. You aren't professional, if you wanna be witty go to twitter.

You come across as rude most times.

The guy that handled npower on social media showed professionalism at peak. I learnt alot on how to manage ppl from that guy. Honestly the guy is a model. " Ma'am, we are sorry you couldn't make it. We wish you well in your future endeavours". Those are some of his words.

Please, is it that you were not selected make the process not transparent. We should learn acceptance when not selected. I see no reason for recruiter should tell you why. Shalom

Hi bro. You are doing a great job by keeping us informed. I applied for Lecturer II (Communication Engineering). However, I know the course wasn't accredited by NYC. Could that possibly be the reason I have not received an invite?

Would have been better if you had also sent the invitations via emails cos that's the surest medium for official message delivery.

Anyways, kindly let us know if this interview exercise is all there would be.
Thanks sir.

Thank you for your write up but;
1. Dont be overshadowed by unemployment mentality that you allow yourself to be at the mercy of every circumstance. NMU is owned by FGN, and every application accepted should be given equal attention as all applicant are Nigerians.
2. Every Nigerian that applied for a government job which he/she qualified for should be given an opportunity to appear for an interview.
3. And on any event you were not invited, response of regret should be given to you on why you were not called for interview or selected for the job.
So, wise up and think like someone who has gone to school. Dont sound desperate or vunerable. Uphold your dignity in all circumstance.
Finally the guy posting for NMU has been very rude in this forum like all us are his subject or his surbodinate. I believe, is because i dont think he has worked as a public relation officer before. He is highly unprofessional. For your information, some of us applying are Senior Lecturers somewhere with PhDs. So, He should learn how to communicate to heterogenous audience.
Thank you.

I guess you are psychophantic about the whole thing. My response to you were because you wanted recruiter to tell why you were not selected. But I am forced to tell you that you applied thru postage service, not thru email. Do you expect them to send you reply thru postage service? Reason like senior lecturer as you claim, and stop being rude.

let's not quarrel over this issue..
in a civilized setting, recruiters are supposed to send regret mails ( since the applicants mails are in their CV's) but most FGN jobs are not done that way...so many things are always involved.. we just have to move on with our lives.. I was really pained by not getting a mail cos I went there twice to submit and to make corrections...but I just av to put it behind me and moved on, I even lectured yesterday and today as if nothing happened...
May God give us the best cos He knows what's best for us...
LET'S MOVE ON..
THANKS

I was going to give him a response but I figured anyone who could be so mentally slow should be ignored.

You applied for a job, didn't get an invite and all the institution rep could type was "if you didn't get an invite, you didn't cut it for us"....and you see nothing wrong with it?

Mr Applicant. The NMU University @poster who has been posting informations on that and vouching for their integrity should attend to my post and give reasons why some people were not invited.Thats what courtesy demand.(were not selected)-Noboby has been selected including you. What we are talking about is interview invitation. Give every eligible applicant an opportunity to be interviewed.Professionally pacify those not invited.Infact let me not waste my energy and time on you.Untill the NMU guy talks then I will know what next.

I appreciate you my brother. But, Personally I will not put it behind for some reasons.I will wait for the guy to respond. And if he doesn't. I will do a mail to the VC and the council chairperson. I want to believe they are not aware of all this bullshit. Next week he will see my write ups on the national dailies. I will follow up with petitions to NUC, IYC and Senate committe on Education. He should not worry, this will be my last post here.

Mr man. I wouldn't waste my energy but if you want specific answer to your application you may not get. You can only get generic response from the recruiter to all applicants who werent selected.
Re: Nigerian Maritime University 2017 Recruitment by ZandaBright: 5:10am On Mar 01, 2018
You guys are talking as if you don't know that we are in Nigeria where anything is possible. It's because of this and other things like this that we are complaining about corruption in Nigeria...The system is so corrupt and it's only God can save us. We know that you guys might have selected the people you want or the people THEY want for you but sending a regret emails or SMS to applicants who risked their life, money and time to submit the application is not behind the scene for an institution that want to pursue excellence. As for the person/s that handle the social media platforms for NMU..be professional in your job.Being rude is unprofessional in any field of endeavor and nobody will take that from you.You are dealing with different people from different areas of life.We know that you may be having some challenges as well and that you may also not even understand what is actually going on there or what has happened in Abuja about this recruitment but being professional and matured in your response to applicants will be nice and friendly as a fellow countryman who understands what people pass through to get a job here...I asked a question which you did not answer and I repeat....Almost all the people invited for this interview are not under the three pioneer Faculties like you said earlier...Can you please shed more light on this?
