Let's be frank with each other. Those people, those politicians, they are not interested in you or your problems. They do not care about you. All they are interested in is getting to power and protecting themselves.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said its government would not waste time in assenting to the Peace Corps of Nigeria establishment bill if voted into power in the 2019 presidential elections.

The party’s national publicity secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, made this known in a statement while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to assent to the Peace Corps bill passed by the national assembly in 2017.

The PDP stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, lacked youth-driven ideologies and should be voted out in the forthcoming general elections for failing to create any job opportunities for the teeming jobless Nigerians as it promised during the 2015 pre-election campaigns

Ologbondiyan said, “The PDP noted with dismay how a party that promised massive job creation would decline assenting to such a bill meant to create millions of jobs for Nigerians”.

The party stressed that citing of financial difficulties as reasons for rejecting the bill as laughable, questioning what the APC administration was doing or has done with the so-called billions of naira it allegedly recovered in its witch-hunting fight against corruption.

The main opposition party maintained that voting the APC out of power was the only option left for Nigerians, declaring that the APC had nothing tangible to offer Nigerians rather than leading the country backward.

this would be a bad idea.

you are just creating photocopies of existing institutions.

there would definitely be interference from similar institutions, rivalries not to talk of the cost of maintenance.

modified :
imagine police will stop you, SARS will stop you, lastma will stop you, frsc will stop you, nscdc will stop you, now peace Corp will stop you. all for the same issue.

at the end of the day, it is Nigerians that will feel the brunt.
the hereditary problem of pdp---money wasting!

as much as I will have love to agree with you two wrongs don't make a right besides do you know that with a prudent plan of 5 years all the abandoned projects in this country will be completed giving millions of job and foreign exchange to the country. we need to add value to the system not take the little that is left. You are saying I can wake up tomorrow and start hunger corps.
If the man really mean well for the country let him train people on agricultural based initiatives and see if government will not buy into it. This is not US and the climes where Peace Corps exist is a voluntary organisation that doesn't depend on government patronage to exist.
Buhari will employ youth tru agricultural sector in 2070. Government who can't empower 500,000 youths at once thru npower initiative program wil offer permmanent job.

npower is a permanent job? Npower beneficiaries are crying for permanency because they hate returning to labor market. Remember that only 200,000 are earnin deir stipend regularly, 300,000 are yet 2b sorted out.

There are 1001 ways to win an election, unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Every educated Nigerian knows that the Peace Corps bill is a duplication of duties.

Campus security/School security. They already exist and even use arms and ammunition... If you enter LASU campus at Ojo today, their campus marshalls all have double barrel shotgun ready to enforce campus laws anytime. If they need backup, the Police, NSCDC and various military outfits are available.

Thanks.
