The scan result says she has a pregnancy co-existing with fibroid.Yes fibroid is a threat to pregnancy however, once it has happened, patient should book pregnancy early and should ensure she is seen by a specialist (Obstetrician) for proper antenatal care. The baby can be carried to term successfully with the issues of fibroid in pregnancy anticipated and properly managed.In the case of your wife, the scan result says there is an 8-10weeks gestational sac with no embryo in it.This means the pregnancy is not viable. I will however advice you have a repeat scan at LUTH as a second opinion (you cant trust all scan results as ultrasound scan is operator dependent). She should be managed there.
