A hunter guns down and poses with the elephant he killed at janiyi camp, idanre, ondo state. It was reported that the elephant has been destroying the crops in the community farms.

This is very sad. I feel like crying. Why would any right thinking human being kill an elephant?

This is horrible! Elephants are endangered species and killing them has been outlawed all over the world. In a sane country, this Hunter would have been arrested and slammed with at least 20 years imprisonment. Here, he is being hailed as a hunter. Must we kill every animal we see? Who did this to us in this country?

Obviously, if an animal doesn't pose a threat to your life you don't have to kill it.. elephants are endangered species, it takes a lot of time to give birth to one let alone form a population of them. This is just plain stupid..

African Elephant is on the list of endangered animals, but, Nigerian government don't seen to care. In a saner clime like Kenya, this animal would be captured and taken to a wild life conservation to live out it's days in peace. Killing of an elephant should attract a huge fine and a jail sentence.
