Provided you have a C or better in your WAEC you don't need IELTS for a UK University.

Also, even with a third class, i'm sure some schools in the UK will admit anyone. There's nothing hard or special about getting the admission to a UK uni, as far as you don't need a scholarship and its not to a top 10 university... but yes, God is gracious!

That is NOT entirely correct.

Hi family......

I have a bsc accounting degree with 3.2 CGPA ,thinking of going for an MSC in accounting/finance or maybe MBA.I am below 24 yrs n presently a 7 month old banker...

Am considering the following schools

Warwick business skul
Lancaster university
Bath university
Edinburgh business skul

Pls what's your view...wanna work in good organization after school oo cos I must recoup my investment... Lol....How is the job prospect like for them

Who knows anything abt the new u.k post study law

Plssssssssssssss...muah

UK Post study is not in existence. Edinburgh Business School(EBS) is nice but the courses are a bit tough.
You can either study in Scotland campus or you do online study yourself and use the avenue to work in London. After the completion of your course, you need to go back home unless God makes a way for you to switch to another visa.
UK post study is zero

Hello Everyone, i do not wish to derail this thread. Certainly, leaving the country and having an international degree gives a competitive edge. However, i do notice there are lots of people like me on this thread, not born with a silver spoon, trying to succeed no matter the challenges . And since UK does not allow one to remain after studies unless you get a job offer from a reputable company.

Questions:
1. how easy is it to get a company to sponsor one after studies?
2. if there is no sponsor, what next?
3. then is it worth it for silver spoon-less people like me to gather so much money and then drop it in one country that does not want me around for so long...

your candid (and if possible brutish) comments are welcomed.

Tendency of getting Certificate of Sponsorship(C.O.S) is 10% because not all companies have the right to sponsor an employee.
Coming to UK & after completing your course, you are expected to return back home.
Few university in UK offers 2yrs visa for M Sc which i suggest you applying to because 1Year student visa runs out quickly.
I will advise you to gather more dough and focus on Australia university because you have 2yrs visa + post study and 70% chance of getting a Permanent Residence.
I got friends who migrated from UK to there.
UK students visa is just for you to come in,study & go home with your certificate

Universities issue visa?

Some university courses are 18months.
UK govt issues 2yrs visa for that.
We all know that visa is been granted by government of a nation.

Thanks Phenmeson. I totally agree with you. However, among English speaking countries, tuition seems to be highest in Australia. Also it is a very far and lonely island (my opinion).

I don't think you should look towards Aus unless you have a strong 2.1 and 1st (for scholarships), like you said, it is expensive. Even though there are scholarship opportunities after your first semester, having the down payment to get into the school, in the first place, might just be difficult to get. If you are looking towards a PhD, NZ will be gold, don't try it for a master's, its as expensive as Aus.

Good day blessed and learned people..

My uncle intends sending me 15k euro into my account...
Please I like to know if I did be questioned for my source of income during the visa interview...

Or how to go about the cash inflow, as to avoid stories on the visa interview...
Thanks

Your point was faulty.
Because you applied to 5 unis, you now conclude that IELTS is not required if one has a Credit in WASSCE/ sSCE English language.
My dear, eat the humble pie. That assertion was WRONG.

You do know that websites say that there will be no need for an English test score, if a prospective Nigeria student has at least a C in their WAEC. You clearly, sorry, CLEARLY, do not know what is contained in the websites but you think my assertion is wrong. Come and collect your humble pie, you need it!

Thanks. I have a 2.1 though, but breeze can easily blow it away. I guess it's back to Ireland and UK then.

Please anyone attending University of Westminter this September?

grin grin baba, unless you get a scholarship in the UK, stick to Ireland- its more affordable and has more chances of giving you a 2-year post study visa, unless you want to return and see buhari's face.

euros or pounds?

If its pounds, you were given bursary of 2500 or 25000? bursary from who? what is the relevance of the bursary to your question?

anyway to answer your question, you are meant to have your tuition + your living expenses for at least 10 months. living expenses for outside London is about 9000 pounds, and in London is about 11000pounds. Add that to your tuition and that's what you have to show proof of funds for. To get the Naira equivalent, multiply the sum of the pounds by the black market rate, not CBN rate, to be on the safe side. A few people got their visas bounced when the Naira shook in 2015.

I didn't goof, come and beat me!

Maybe the Chinese people in the UK that can barely speak, also had to show proof of English now! If they were strict with the English law, what is the probability that 5 out of 5 schools all gave me my admission with any proof of english. Baba go learn maths again!

Also, the fact that you cant tell that Aphrodite is a goddess, means I wont waste my time arguing with you! It goes to show how well-read you are!

Ta! Uncle Stop it! You don't mislead people. Nobody I know that has gone to the UK was asked to write IELTS to gain admission.

It's pretty easy to get admission to a UK Uni, as long as you aren't applying for a scholarship. The top 5 unis may require you write IELTS. As long as you're not applying to Cambridge, Oxford and the likes and you passed English in your WAEC then you're good to go.

I applied to a number of schools and gained admission to all of them without writing IELTS and I have a ton of friends that have studied and are studying in UK and none of whom were asked to write the exam.

you applied to “ a number of schools” fair enough.
But you still cant say categorically that IELTS. Is not required by UK Universities.
Because a lot of universities may not require IELTS, a lot of others do require it.
