What are you comparing. Awolowo impacted on the life of every yorubas which they are reaping up to today. But Ojukkwu brought us only misery. War is never good especially when you are defeated.

Yes, it is a great insult to humanity to compare Awolowo to ojukwu. Let me analyse both of their lifetime.

OBAFEMI AWOLOWO
He enrolled at the University of London as an External Student and graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.). He went to the UK in 1944 to study law at the University of London and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple on 19 November 1946.[4][6]

Apart from his face being on 100 Naira notes, some other achievements of the late sage who hailed from Ikenne, Ogun State are catalogued below;

1.) He named Nigeria’s national currency as ‘Naira’ when he was the Federal Commissioner for Finance. The late sage took the name of Nigeria and collapsed it as ‘Naira’

2.) Awolowo introduced free primary education for all and free health care for children in the Western Region.
3. )He established the first television station in Africa in 1959.

4. )He also erected the first skyscraper in tropical Africa:the Cocoa House (still the tallest in Ibadan).

5.) Awo as fondly called was conferred by President Shehu Shagari with the title of the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), the first and only non-president to be so honoured in recognition of his sterling qualities and contributions to the service of the country.

6.) He was the first individual in the modern era to be named Leader of the Yorubas (Yoruba: Asiwaju Omo Oodua), a title which has come over time to be conventionally ascribed to his successors as the recognized political leader of the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria.

7.) The man widely believed by admirers to be the best President Nigeria never had was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria’s parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959.

8.) In 1949 he founded the Nigerian Tribune, the oldest surviving private Nigerian newspaper, which he used to spread nationalist consciousness among his fellow Nigerians.

9.) The party he founded, Action Group was the first to move the motion for Nigeria’s independence in the federal parliament and he obtained internal self-government for the Western Region in 1957.

10.) The University of Ife was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University on 12 May 1987 in honour of Chief Obafemi Awolowo first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria, whose brainchild the university was.

In 1992, the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation was founded as an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organisation committed to furthering the symbiotic interaction of public policy and relevant scholarship with a view to promoting the overall development of the Nigerian nation. The Foundation was launched by the President of Nigeria at that time, General Ibrahim Babangida, at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.[12] However, his most important bequests (styled Awoism) are his exemplary integrity, his welfarism, his contributions to hastening the process of decolonisation and his consistent and reasoned advocacy of federalism-based on ethno-linguistic self-determination and uniting politically strong states-as the best basis for Nigerian unity.

CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU
Emeka Ojukwu started his secondary school education at CMS Grammar School, Lagos aged 10 in 1943.[10] He later transferred to King's College, Lagos in 1944 where he was involved in a controversy leading to his brief imprisonment for assaulting a white British colonial teacher who humiliating a black woman. This event generated widespread coverage in local newspapers.
At 13, his father sent him overseas to study in the United Kingdom, first at Epsom College and later at Lincoln College, Oxford University, where he earned a master's degree in History. He returned to colonial Nigeria in 1956.
Ojukwu joined the civil service in Eastern Nigeria as an Administrative Officer at Udi, in present-day Enugu State. In 1957, within months of working with the colonial civil service, he left and joined the military as one of the first and few university graduates to join the army as a recruit: O. Olutoye (1956); C. Odumegwu-Ojukwu (1957), Emmanuel Ifeajuna and C. O. Rotimi (1960), and A. Ademoyega (1962).
Ojukwu was the Leader of Biafra seccesionist
He had contested as presidential candidate of his party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the last three of the four elections. Until his illness, he remained the party leader. The party was in control of two states in and largely influential amongst the Igbo ethnic area of Nigeria.
Ojukwu was named after anambra state university and Memorial International Library and Convention Centre located in owerri.

For anyone to compare the two people above needs his or head checked. They are not mate, and can never be mate. Awolowo achieved many things, What did ojukwu achieved? He even lost election even in his hometown. Thanks.

Sooo RATATTAK/OTAPIAPIA finally ended those achievements lolsss grin grin

What an insult..?

Babaginda respected Ojukwu and feared him even in dead...

But send some young oficers to fetch daddy Awo... The ogboni high chief..

Infact gave him condition to live...
The mumu chief a coward representative
A Yoruba demon... Chief .. mastermind of genocide couldn't take what he gives freely while clamming sophistication took posion and dine with rats

Now a Yoruba chief is in animal paradise..

Rats paradise to be precise..
And yet some of his protege will compare him to a soldier who saw war..fought war..led troops to front...kill enemies on front and returned a hero... betrayed, came back to a hero's welcome ..contested in the enemies territory..while the smile sheepishly...

Meanwhile the ogboni chief was busy chasing dreams he never got in his live time...

Ojukwu was once a president..head of state of the only and strongest country on the African soil..
Why the great Awo died a wannabe grin

Wdf..

If any afonja can do this.?me go worship that afons with ma family...

Nobody is begging yoruba for freedom because they are in chains but refuse to acknowledge it. Like I said go and ask the mere commissioner VP who calls himself a Christian pastor. He hasn't been able to utter a word of condermnation against the killing of those he was asked to shepherd.
You can ask your minister of health who his northern subordinate has been elevated above him by his northern boss.
Probably you think it's prestige to be a figure head like osibaande and the minister of health. Tufiakwa slavery.

I never read it anywhere where a hero run away from battle when it matters most. For him to even come back to contest and lost woefully even in his backyard is a big disgrace to your tribe.
. You don't even know history, Mandela didn't run away? Hitler didn't run away, first Mandela ran to Nigerian and was captured when he wanted to sneak into Soweto after he was declared wanted for guerilla warfare and Hitler escaped to Argentina immediately Berlin fall the allied forces never captured Hitler what they did was to give fake information on how Hitler committed suicide, Hitler dead in Argentina In 1988 at the age of 88, the daughter hw got there testified but the U.N.controlled by USA played it down because till today the allied forces don't want that embarrassment that Hitler was not captured.

Ojukwu the fearless and brave leader of biafras
Awolowo is nothing but a coward and a disgrace to all the Yoruba race!!
Yorubas lack the strenght to challenge the North and this is sheer cowardice. In 1966, Northern elements went to Ibadan and slaughtered Lt Col Fajuyi who was Military Governor of the Western Region. Yorubas did nothing
20 years later, again the Northerners abduct and slaughter the Yoruba nations brightest political star, Chief MKO Abiola. Again, the Yoruba nation could do nothing.
Three different times, the North has chased out a Yoruba man from his rightful place as head of state, Brigadier Ogundipe, MKO Abiola and Shonekan. Yorubas could do nothing.
A few thousand Northern Soldiers held the entire Yoruba land and the western Region hostage when they killed Lt Col Fajuyi and chased Brigadier Ogundipe and brought a much junior Lt Col Gowon to take over. Yoruba reaction to this desecration of their land was to meekly accept the North as their lord and master.
The North has poked the eye of the Yoruba nation many times, Yorubas have never done anything.
Of the three main ethnic groups, only Yorubas have never taken their destiny in their hands an attempted secession. Yorubas are also the only zone in southern Nigeria who have never taken up arms against Nigeria.
All these historical events leads me to the conclusion that Yorubas are cowards.

A disgrace to Yoruba race you must be high on Kai kai.
