O boy! I work there. Yes, some men were also sacked and very few married women were left due to their connections but the sack was targeted at marital status!!

And no benefits were given to them irrespective the number of years they have worked for glo only one month salary was paid to them.

All employment are 'at-will' meaning, the employer can hire and fire 'at will' based on objective NOT subjective factors. The funny thing is the letter is directed at temporary staff indirectly employed by Globacom but, thru a staffing agency.

I think it's imperative employers start educating their illiterate employees about these things.

But truth be told, married women in active child-bearing age are a huge burden to any organisation. Don't get me wrong, I have a couple of married women in my life.

Most often, companies go for the jugular of mostly married women who are still giving birth if they were to downsize.
